On the Yiddish segment, Rochelle presents music from the Golden Age of Yiddish Theatre in New York.  The songs you will hear were either written or composed (or both) by Jacob Jacobs.  Jacobs - (born Yakov Yakubovitsh) (January 2, 1890 – October 14, 1977), was a Yiddish theater and vaudeville director, producer, lyricist, songwriter, coupletist, character actor, comic born in Rosca (now Riska, Romania).

On the first half hour, Rochelle Zucker shines the spotlight on Schmaltz and Pepper,  They are a uniquely virtuosic and entertaining chamber ensemble performing original music inspired by Klezmer, Yiddish Swing, Jazz and Classical music. The group thrilled their Winnipeg audience last year at the Put A Yid On It Festival.The three members of the group who have created songs for the CD you will hear - Eric Abramovitz ,Rebekah  Wolkstein and Drew Jurecka have been nominated  for a 2026  Canadian Folk Music Award  in the category of Instrumental Composer(s) Of The Year.

On the first segment of The Jewish Radio Hour, Rochelle Zucker presents music by 4 Klezmer groups that were founded in the 20th century and have displayed amazing longevity. They are The Pressburger Klezmer (Bratislava - 1995), The Budapest Klezmer (1990), The Maxwell Street Klezmer Band (Chicago - 1983) and The Klezmer Conservatory Band (Boston - 1980).  All are still active and relevant today.
