On the show tonight, Joe begins with some MLB stories. He begins with Rob Manfred admitting to Time Magazine that he should not have given the Astros players immunity in the cheating investigation. Well, isn’t that obvious? Joe thinks that the punishment should have been all the draft picks, not just the first 2 rounds in 2 years worth of drafts. But Joe still gives some credit to Houston, because they had to win game 7 in LA.

Then Manfred announced that there will be a Negro League tribute game in Birmingham next June. It falls around Juneteenth, and will also honor Willie Mays.

Wander Franco was benched for (at least) 2 games by the Rays manager Kevin Cash for “how he has handled frustrating situations.” Franco is 22 years old, and may just be showing some immaturity with some of his actions.

I-95 in Philly will be opening back up on Friday! With the help of Pocono Raceway, they loaned out their jet dryer to dry the asphalt for the line painting process to complete the temporary road work.

The NHL banned “caused based” warm up jerseys in the NHL next season. It can be traced to pride night, but Joe just thinks warm up jerseys, cause based or not, are just plain stupid.

The Middle East is getting into sports ownership in the US. It’s not the Saudis, but the Qataris. They bought a 5% interest in Monument Sports, which includes the Washington Capitals of the NHL, Washington Wizards of the NBA, and the Washington Mystics of the WNBA. The NBA will have to approve this minority share.

Finally, Joe reviews Saturday’s Ohio Derby at Thistledown in suburban Cleveland, Ohio. Kentucky Derby runner up Two Phil’s is the morning line favorite, but Joe likes someone else.

Joe’s back, and he’s got a lot of things he saw since last Tuesday. Joe begins by apologizing for the technical difficulties because he lost his internet about 90 minutes or so before his planned start.

Then Joe thinks the Braves were totally in the wrong when they DFA’s Charlie Culberson, a Georgia native, on Father’s Day, with his father slated to throw out the first pitch.

Then Joe updated the stadium situation for the A’s in Las Vegas. The funding was approved and signed by the governor (loyal viewer Donn_Wann confirmed the bill being signed into law by Governor Lombardo), and the Tropicana Casino will be torn down starting next month.

Two Phillies with Vegas ties do not like that the Athletics are moving from Oakland to Las Vegas, as both Bryce Harper and Bryson Stott cited that they would rather see an expansion team there.

Is Trevor Bauer in trouble again? He’s playing in Japan, but another sexual assault allegation popped up last week. Joe sees a pattern in Trevor’s behavior, but he also can see the allegations be false and just a piling on of the other allegations that did not lead to charges.

Then Joe wanted this earlier in the show, but he was watching the Phillies on Wednesday night destroy the Arizona Diamondbacks, and color analyst Ruben Amaro Jr. said that he loves when a position player pitcher. I hate it, and I might have been hyperbolic, but I think it’s a stain on the integrity of the game.

Finally, San Diego State is resigning from the Mountain West, or are they looking for an extension to the June 30 deadline? Only time will tell.

The intro of the show was a bit flubbed, but Joe mentions that “Dancing On My Own” is back in the Phillies clubhouse according to Nick Castellanos, who was on 97.5 The Fanatic. Guess the team wants to get that feeling back and it’s showing on the field.

Then Joe discusses another great collapse in Philly, this time away from the sports world with the collapse of the northbound lanes of I-95. Joe reviews what he thinks happened and why the overpass crashed down on Sunday morning.

Joe reviews the Belmont Stakes from Saturday. Joe did not give out the superfecta, but did have two pick 4’s early in the card. Joe points out that National Treasure was forced to go run quicker fractions than he should have and Arcangelo showed his will to finish the race.

Joe also discusses the latest horses euthanized at Belmont. A horse was put down after the race after the Belmont, and one on the first race on Sunday. Don_Wann mentioned how he had horses break down in the final part of the race, and I showed him a race from Sunday at Laurel that my dad played here the jockey misjudged the finish because of the dual wire system they have there.

Oakland fans have a reverse boycott today, the same day that the A’s new stadium vote made it through the Nevada State Senate. Joe still thinks that Oakland should kick them out and worry about the legal matters later.

Joe reviews the NBA Finals, stating that Denver finally got the gold, and Denver didn’t do anything spectacular, but they did the job. Joe also gives thoughts on VGK being on the brink (at the time) of winning the Stanley Cup, and the fact that the Flyers should look into getting a goalie from the Golden Knights.

Joe previews what he thinks about the kelly green uniforms that the Eagles are bringing back next season. Joe will have pics on Thursday’s show, but he doesn’t like the leaked jersey.

Finally, the Jacksonville Jaguars will need a place to play potentially when their stadium renovation begins. One place that shocked Joe is Daytona International Speedway. Joe has no clue how this is going to be set up, but they do have the grass for it.

Joe begins the Thursday show with some updates on the podcast. Joe mentions that he’s getting new downloads from different parts of the country as well as the world. Joe looks the location hits as opposed to the numbers, and yes, there’s VPNs and stuff like that, but appreciates everyone who takes the time to download the podcast, as well as watching with me on No Filter.

Joe gives some stadium updates. First, the Athletics appears to have a tentative agreement with Nevada and Las Vegas for the funding for the new stadium and gives some additional details. Joe still thinks Oakland will be playing in their affiliate’s stadium next year despite having a lease through next season. Also keep an eye on Milwaukee. Joe doesn’t think anything will happen there, but Commissioner Rob Manfred was in Milwaukee to talk to the Brewers with his annual meetings with each team, as well as meeting with the Wisconsin legislature to get the funding for improvements for Milwaukee’s stadium.

Joe reiterated that Lebron James did play with a torn tendon in his foot, and he’s falling into the Shams Charania camp that Lebron will return next year despite that news alert that game Tuesday morning. Health and science has advanced so much over the last 20 years that James has been in the league that Joe can see him playing a few more years, but could also seeing LBJ retiring.

Then Joe talks about gambling in the NFL. He goes over the rules that the NFL has and why some players got 6 teams, some got a year, etc. Then Joe says he does not believe Detroit WR Jameson Williams’ commenting that he wasn’t aware of the NFL’s gambling policy.

Finally, Joe talks about the latest issues with Ja Morant. He was caught again with a gun on Instagram and police having to have a welfare check on him on Wednesday. Joe thinks Ja needs to wake up before he loses his career, or even his life. Joe mentions help is out there, whether it is just hanging with the wrong crowd, or there is a mental health issue that is undiagnosed. Joe details how he was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, and gives his advice to everyone.
