Chapter 1:
-Yesterday, we received the news no one wants to hear. The gas tax is going up to 18.5% from 17% by next spring, costing you an average of $24 more a year to run your vehicle.
Chapter 2:
-Five people, four of them journalists, were shot dead in a newsroom at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland yesterday, allegedly by 38 year old Jarrod Ramos. He’s since been charged with five counts of first degree murder.

-This week, Winston Blackmore - the leader of a religious polygamist cult in Bountiful, BC - was sentenced to just 6 months house arrest. Winston has been accused of marrying girls as young as 15 years old, as well as traffic girls even younger to the US where they were to be married into Warren Jeffs community.

-It was a pretty shocking gas-tax announcement that divided Metro mayors and seemed to catch them off guard yesterday. Is a major gas-tax fight now brewing for the fall municipal elections? The Province newspaper's Michael Smyth is here with his take on the day's headlines.

-The BC Liberals were crucified by a damning 247 page report released by former RCMP assistant commissioner Peter German on Wednesday, which sought to uncover the widespread practice of money laundering in BC.
Chapter 6:
-The scathing report on money laundering found gangsters were able to use BC’s casinos as laundromats for the proceeds of crime over a period of more than a decade, while the BC Liberals were in power. Now that the report is out, there seems to be no accountability being put on anyone or any group.
Chapter 7:
-There’s been a massive revolt against the NDP’s school tax, which targets homes worth more than $3m dollars. As a result, many residents in West Vancouver will be hit hard by the new levy, as shown by analysis done by SFU’s Andy Yan.
