Canadian outfitter Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) has dropped five brands linked to a major U.S. gun manufacturer following a public outcry in the wake of a mass-shooting at a Florida high school.  MEC announced Thursday the company will no longer place orders from brands owned by Vista Outdoor, a company that also develops and manufactures firearms similar to the weapon used to kill 17 students and staff at a high school in Parkland, Fla.

The Rick Hansen foundation says improving physical accessibility in the workplace could see Canada’s GDP soar by $16.8b within 12 years.

The 2018 festival features wines from 16 countries. There is a focus on a different region or country every year; the featured region has its own section in the tasting room and offers thematic seminars and food and wine pairings throughout the week. We need more time to decide - that's the latest from Mountain Equipment Co-op over the growing demands it stop selling outdoor products made by an American company that also makes guns like the one used to kill 17 in Parkland, Florida two weeks ago.
In a statement, MEC says it has spoken with members and engaged with key players in the industry, it does not have a relationship with the National Rifle Association but does have long-standing relationships with companies that do.
