BC Greens Leader Andrew Weaver has laid out his party's wish list for the next budget.
In it, he says people who don't live, work or pay taxes in the province should be banned from buying property in B-C.  The Greens are also calling on loopholes in the foreign buyers tax to be closed.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tackled the controversy about funding for the summer jobs program and anti-abortion groups head on Wednesday night.  During a town hall in Winnipeg, a person called out a question about the new rules for federal grants for companies that want to hire students, which is cracking down on anti-abortion groups.  Trudeau said he would take the question, even though it wasn’t an official one.

The words to the Canadian national anthem have officially changed! Yesterday, the Senate finally passed a bill that makes the anthem gender neutral.

B.C. Environment Minister George Heyman said the province is looking at restricting the amount of bitumen from the Alberta oilsands to be transported through B.C. as it launches a scientific study of spill responses.  Alberta Premier Rachel Notley all but declared war against B.C. yesterday, saying her government is looking at legal and economic responses. Alberta could sue B.C. and/or impose trade sanctions.  The Province newspaper's Michael Smyth is here with his take on the day's headlines.

Elon Musk’s flame thrower business is going pretty well. He tweeted late last night that he is officially sold out of flamethrowers, which for some weird reason he was selling. The Silicon Valley billionaire sold 20-thousand flames throwers at $500/each which earned him $10-million in just four days.
