When public education doesn’t go far enough to help, some parents of children with dyslexia take matters into their own hands. Dyslexia affects about 75,000 British Columbians. It can be a devastating learning disability that needs special instruction, which isn’t necessarily provided in public schools. To ensure their children have a bright, productive future parents are having to shell out thousands of dollars a year.

Yesterday, the Abbotsford Police Department lost an amazing colleague and friend who died in the line of duty.  Our community lost a hero.  John Davidson worked as a police officer for 24 years.  He began his law enforcement career in the United Kingdom working for the Northumbria Police from 1993 to 2005.

A Surrey man needs your help to raise over half-a-million dollars in order to afford potentially life-saving cancer treatment.
