Three shootings and four people dead - the toll so far this week in what appears to be escalating gang violence on the Lower Mainland. At about 5:30 this morning, Langley Mounties were called out to 232nd Street and 64th Avenue, where they found two victims - a man and a woman - who had been shot. Both died in what appears to be have been a targeted attack. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now on the case. The Langley shooting came less than 12 hours after a young man was gunned down near an elementary school at Gladwin and Huntington Roads in Abbotsford. Again, police that killing appears to have been targeted, as was Tuesday night's fatal shooting in the Cloverdale area of Surrey, that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man who police say was known to them.

Floral tributes, photos and personal messages are being placed at the gates of Kensington Palace as Britain observes the 20th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana.

Harvey is now a tropical depression, heading toward Arkansas and Mississippi. The death toll is rising, and first responders in Texas have made more than 13,000 rescues. In east Texas, the city of Beaumont lost its water supply overnight. Reports from CBS News
