Officials in Houston are acknowledging the grim reality that fatalities linked to Harvey could soar once devastating floodwaters recede.  There is devestation and destruction, but there is also stories of people pulling together to help each other out.

Can we go back through time and zero in on 1 thing that a person did wrong and dismiss his whole character because of it?  A lot of people are questioning the removal of "Sir John A MacDonald" from all schools in Ontario.  Should we bury history that we don't agree with in 2017?

Hurricane Harvey: Famed-pastor Joel Osteen faced harsh criticism on social media yesterday for not opening his mega-church to people in need of shelter. The church was a former NBA stadium and can hold 16-thousand people. Osteen said that due to flooding the building couldn’t be opened...however, that prompted social media users to go to the church and take pictures of the underground parking lot and surrounding facilities...all of which appear not to be flooded.

Emergency responders in Houston have now rescued more than 6,000 people from Hurricane Harvey's flooding. Harvey is still a tropical storm spinning off the Gulf Coast. It could make a second landfall Wednesday east of Houston. Reports from CBS News

The City of Surrey is undertaking an ‘audit’ of residential curbside recycling bins to cut down on the amount of contamination, but some residents say it’s a waste of money.  Surrey’s solid waste manager Harry Janda says the city’s contract with Recycle BC indicates blue bin recycling contamination can’t be any more than three per cent.
