BC Hydro has vowed it will help reduce the number of bald eagles being electrocuted on local power lines. Representatives from O.W.L (Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society) said that there have been five fatal electrocutions in the past week alone. O.W.L said that making power lines safer for eagles now is very important as the birds will soon be coming back to Metro Vancouver in large numbers for the upcoming breeding season.

Starting today (Tuesday), BC Hydro will install perch guards on 14 power poles in trouble areas.
