The JRPG Report

The annual Germany based gaming festival, Gamescon, was host to a slew of JRPG stories. We got a surprise release date and price point for Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. Persona 5 Royal narrowed its release window to Spring of 2020 in the West. And we got a look at the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo. Plus tons of other trailers and announements. All these stories are covered in Episode 74 plus my initial thoughts on the Grandia HD Collection.

With not much to talk about, we focus on the weird times of the Grandia HD Collection's release. Good news: it will release on August 16 for $39.99. But it was as odd week before that. We have a few small stories to discuss too. I rant for a few minutes about spoiling video games with trailers. Then we hit up Facebook questions for the last half of the program. Episode 73 has a bit of everything!

It's been ages since we got to enjoy the Grandia series. And while its not a new entry, we finally get to enjoy the best two games, Grandia and Grandia II in HD on the Switch on August 16th. We'll also cover all the Persona 5 Royal news from its huge livestream event. New trailers and demos are here too. Plus our weekly Atelier Ryza and Final Fantasy VII Remake stories. All these and much more for Episode 72 of the JRPG Report. Thanks for listening each and every week!

Thanks for listening! We preview the Persona 5 Royal gameplay reveal set for August 2 with lots of new screenshots and two new videos. More coming next week. There's no shortage of news stories this week, but no big ones. Of course most will be excited to finally fire up their Switch and play Fire Emblem. But others can fill the time with demos, live streams, and new trailers. We've got a lot to talk about. Plus my under $20 budget gamer PS4 list. I'm singing the Cold Steel Blues this week as Class VII's latest entry gets delayed until October 22. It's only a month but it still stinks. We've got tons of better news stories too including an interview with Tales of Arise producer Tomizawa. Please subscribe to out YouTube page, like us on Facebook, and leave a great review for the podcast. You all rock. Let's make this the best JRPG podcast out there!

Episode 68 is full of stories about the world of JRPG's. Updates on Y's XI, Dragon Quest XI S, Persona 5 Royal, and Atelier Ryza. Not a huge week of JRPG news but lots of stories to cover. We take a look at the first gameplay of Atelier Ryza and speak about Nippon Ichi and their smartphone plans. A few announcements, videos, and release dates also popped up. Plus I answer a tough question from the Facebook page. Thanks for listening!

Another awesome week of JRPG news with release dates for Atelier Ryza, The Alliance Alive HD, and Disgaea 4 Complete +. We also have new details for Persona 5 Royal, Y's IX, and Elden Ring.
