The JRPG Report

Let's ring in 2020 with a look back at all the great JRPG's that came out in 2019. I'll share some of our listeners pick as well as my own. I'm sure you know what it already is. We also have some comments from developers on what they hope to accomplish in 2020. There is a story about Final Fantasy VII Remake and it's demo that's really interesting too. Thanks for making 2019 our best year yet!

Its Christmas time! To celebrate we talk about our favorite Christmas memories growing up. Our listeners shared some great stories! Then I begin with one of two big stories: first the Crossbell Saga of the Legend of Heroes series is being remastered for Japan. Second Japan is getting a completely new spin off game in the Cold Steel universe. We talk about Trails of the Beginning at the very end of the show as it contains massive spoilers. I didn't even want to read it all as it even had spoilers for me having only played halfway through CS3. Plus some in depth knowledge about four of the phantom thieves in Persona 5 Scramble and other stories too. You don't want to miss this holiday show! Last week to sign up for our listener support give away! Thank so much for listening each week JRPG fans.

Still no release date but it will come. We also got plenty of new images and information for Final Fantasy VII Remake so I break all those down. And a surprise announcement of Bravely Default II coming next year to the Switch. Plus other goodies. Thanks for listening each week!

It's an interesting week on the JRPG Report. I lead with the new Ni No Kuni mobile game reveil. It sounds really interesting but is a long way off. Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers talked about its new character Sophia. And we had a ton of information about Trials of Mana released. Plus some other smaller stories in a shorter than normal podcast. Thanks for listening each week! Sign up for listener support to win a Deluxe Edition of FF7 Remake!

Finally a busy week of news for us JRPG fans. Falcom talked a little bit about a Legend of Heroes release for September 2020 in Japan. So I speculate on what that means and when we will finally see Cold Steel IV in the West. Atlus and Omega Force gave us a ton of new information about Persona 5 Scamble the Phantom Strikers too. Gust confirmed they are already worked on a new Atelier series and Square Enix is thinking about redefining the action game for its next game. Plus many more stories on jam packed Episode 84. Thanks for listening!
