Numerous incidents of Newark Police misconduct and excessive force have prompted citizen groups and activists to convene a citizens' forum to demand that Newark’s Police Director explain why there are so many egregious incidents of excessive force, and why has he not been able to curtail these acts of misconduct. The citizens forum will be held at the Tucker Community Center, 23 - 45 Elizabeth Avenue Newark New Jersey on Tuesday April 13, 2010, at 6:00 PM. Clark and Selby will discuss some of the incidents that were a catalyst for this event, and what will be the expected response by the Newark Police Department.

William McKenna, Michael Mckenna, and Raymond Carnation, (the "Courageous Three") reported discrimination and corruption in the Philadelphia Police Department. After reporting these very serious incidents of police misconduct they were all fired for non-criminal administrative charges. A Federal Jury (NOS 03-1465 and NOS 03-11473) ruled the Philadelphia Police Department retaliated against them because they had reported serious incidents of corruption and discrimination. Why did these courageous police officers receive termination instead of accolades? Every member of the Philadelphia City Council was contacted in order to solicit their response to this outrageous treatment of honorable and courageous police officers.

Ernest Ford, the author of “Police Terrorism” will be our guest on Thursday March 25, 2010. Mr. Ford, a native of Haiti, is a survivor of police brutality. He has a history of working to empower the powerless and improve conditions in areas of Philadelphia. Mr. Ford will also provide information on the historical exploitative relations that powerful countries, including the United States, has had with Haiti.

There has been several recent incidents of police brutality, corruption, and differential treatment in Newark New Jersey. Several community and religious groups have strongly voiced their discontent with the policies and practices of the Newark Police Department and the treatment of innocent law abiding citizens. Apparently, there has been deafening silence from Newark’s African American law enforcement organization called the “Bronze Shields.” We have invited the Bronze Shields newly elected president to join us on the show for a discussion of these recent incidents, and the Bronze Shield’s position on police corruption, brutality, and differential treatment.

Are innocent citizens actually being arrested in order to fulfill police department arrest quotas? Which police departments have arrest quotas? Are arrest quotas a necessary tool to make certain officers are performing properly? These questions and many others about arrest quotas will be answered in our discussion of arrest and ticket quotas.

The McKenna brothers and Ray Carnation were fired after they reported acts of corruption and discrimination by supervisors of the Philadelphia Police Department. These officers, known as the “Courage Three” filed a law suit in Federal Court. After hearing the evidence, a Federal Jury awarded these officers 10 million dollars. The culpable supervisors involved in this matter have all been promoted. The “Courage Three” await a judge's ruling on whether or not she will declare a mistrial because she claims one of the “Courage Three” was allegedly making faces!

Basire Farrell Died in police custody. According to witnesses he was beaten and kicked by Newark Police Officers while he was on the ground and handcuffed. Is there an investigation, or cover up?

Clark and Selby explore the real purpose of police internal affairs and how this division of a police department can act to cover up police crimes, and diminish the ability of the public to file complaints of brutality and misconduct.

Newark Internal Affairs is unable to to determine if there is an investigation into this criminal act. Why did this crime by police officers go undetected? Why has no one been prosecuted? Have any other police officers suffered from similar crimes perpetrated by police supervisors? What steps have been put in place to make certain this crime can never be repeated?
