L.O.A.D. Bible Study | Matthew 24:9–15 — Pressure Reveals Allegiance
The Kamber Commentary 28:20
What happens to our faith when following Jesus becomes costly? In Matthew 24:9–15, Jesus warns of persecution, betrayal, false prophets, and increasing lawlessness—and the danger of allowing our love to grow cold.
In this verse-by-verse study, we examine Christ’s call to endure, why perseverance expresses genuine faith rather than purchases salvation, and His promise that the gospel of the kingdom will reach all nations. We also begin exploring the “abomination of desolation” and why Jesus directs His listeners to the prophet Daniel for understanding.
These warnings call us to examine our own hearts: Is pressure strengthening our allegiance to Christ? Are we guarding against deception? And are we continuing to love people while standing firmly in truth?
Don’t let the world’s rebellion dictate the temperature of your love.

Matthew 24:1–7: Unshaken in an Uncertain World
What should believers do when the world seems to be coming apart? In this episode of The Kamber Commentary 28:20, we examine Matthew 24:1–7, where Jesus foretells the temple’s destruction and answers His disciples’ questions about His coming and the end of the age. His opening instructions establish our focus: guard against deception and refuse to be ruled by fear. False messiahs, wars, famines, and earthquakes call for discernment, but Jesus cautions that troubling events do not mean the end has arrived. Learn how His words help us recognize deception, remain steady amid uncertainty, and place our confidence in Him.

INSIGHT | Fall Seven Times, Rise Eight!
Proverbs 24:16 (ESV)
What separates the righteous from the wicked? Is it that one never falls while the other does?
Absolutely not!
Scripture tells us that the righteous may fall seven times and rise again. The difference isn't the absence of hardship or failure, but the sustaining grace of God.
In today's INSIGHT, Ernie Kamber explores Proverbs 24:16, Psalm 37:24, and Micah 7:8 to remind us that our falls don't have to define our future.
Whether you're struggling with adversity, discouragement, or spiritual failure, remember:
Your fall doesn't have to be your finish!
Don't get comfortable falling, but don't get comfortable staying down either.

SIDEBAR: Is Your Death Date Already on God’s Calendar?
God knows the exact moment you will die—but does that mean your choices cannot affect how long you live?
Hebrews 9:27 says we are “appointed … to die once.” In this SIDEBAR, we examine what that passage teaches, how God’s foreknowledge relates to human responsibility, and why trusting His sovereignty should lead to wise living. From Scripture’s warnings about dying “before your time” to Hezekiah receiving fifteen additional years, we explore how prayer, obedience, and our decisions matter within God’s sovereign care.
You cannot see God’s calendar, but you can follow His instructions for today. The question is more than “When will I die?” It is “How should I live with the time God has entrusted to me?”

INSIGHT — One Root, A Fruitful Life
The Fruit of Salvation and the Fruit of the Spirit
When someone genuinely receives Jesus Christ as Savior, what evidence should we expect to see? Does spiritual fruit appear immediately, or does it develop over time?
In this episode of INSIGHT, we examine the relationship between the fruit of salvation and the fruit of the Spirit. Through Ephesians 2, Galatians 5, Romans 6, and John 15, we'll explore how God's saving grace and the Holy Spirit's sanctifying work produce a transformed life.
We'll also consider an important question: Can someone truly be saved and still struggle with old habits, sinful attitudes, and spiritual immaturity?
Salvation is not earned by producing fruit, but genuine salvation is never intended to leave us unchanged.
Scripture References: Ephesians 2:8–10; Matthew 3:8; Galatians 5:22–25; 1 Corinthians 3:1–3; John 15:5; Romans 6:22.
Thank you for joining me for another INSIGHT from The Kamber Commentary 28:20, where we examine everyday life through the truth of God's Word.
Remember, spiritual growth isn't about achieving perfection overnight. It's about continuing to walk with Christ, allowing His Word and His Spirit to transform us day by day.
Until next time, keep growing in grace, walking in truth, and bearing fruit that glorifies our Heavenly Father.

One particular statement in this INSIGHT is worth emphasizing when you record it:
"Don't confuse the absence of maturity with the absence of life. But don't confuse the profession of life with the evidence of life, either."
That captures the pastoral balance between giving a growing Christian room to mature and taking seriously Jesus' teaching that genuine faith bears fruit.
INSIGHT: God Is Not In It
Just because a door opens doesn’t mean God wants you to walk through it. And just because something looks like a blessing doesn’t mean it carries His approval.
In this INSIGHT from The Kamber Commentary 28:20, Ernie Brother challenges us to examine the opportunities, relationships, possessions, and successes we so quickly credit to God. Drawing from Elijah’s encounter in 1 Kings 19, Jesus’ temptation, and the truth of God’s Word, we explore how to practice discernment, trust the Giver above His gifts, and choose faithfulness even when obedience costs us.
Here’s the heart-check: Would you still want it if God wasn’t in it?

SIDEBAR: God's Grace Is Bigger Than My Measuring Stick
The Kamber Commentary 28:20 | Podcast Description
Have you ever looked at another Christian and wondered why they still struggle with certain sins, habits, or behaviors? Shouldn't they be further along in their walk with Christ?
But here's a better question: What if God's grace is much bigger than our measuring stick?
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Jesus declares, "My grace is sufficient for you." Yet sometimes we're quicker to recognize another person's shortcomings than to acknowledge the grace God continues to extend to us.
In this SIDEBAR, we examine the balance between grace and accountability, salvation and sanctification, and struggling with sin versus becoming comfortable in it.
God's grace doesn't excuse sin, but neither should we underestimate His patience and His ongoing work in the lives of believers.
Grace meets us where we are, but it was never intended to leave us where we are.
Scripture References: 2 Corinthians 12:9; Titus 2:11–12; 1 Corinthians 3:1–3; James 3:2; Matthew 7:16; Ephesians 2:8–10.
Thank you for joining me for this SIDEBAR on The Kamber Commentary 28:20.
Remember, we're not saved by our performance, and we're not sanctified by comparing ourselves to others. We're saved by grace through faith, and that same grace continues working in us as we grow in Christ.
Don't use God's grace as an excuse to remain in sin, and don't underestimate His grace at work in someone else's life.
Until next time, stay in the Word, keep growing in grace, and keep your eyes on Jesus.

INSIGHT: HOW DO YOU FORGIVE?
Matthew 6:14–15 | The Power and Practice of Forgiveness
What if God forgave you the same way you forgive others?
Would He forgive immediately, or make you wait? Would He forgive completely, or continually remind you of your failures?
In this episode of INSIGHT, we examine Jesus' powerful teaching in Matthew 6:14–15 and explore a question that goes beyond simply being willing to forgive: HOW do we forgive?
Do we wait for an apology? Do we make the first move? Should we send a text, make a phone call, write a letter, or meet face-to-face? And perhaps most importantly, are we forgiving with humility, grace, and a sincere heart?
Forgiveness isn't always easy, but it is an essential expression of Christian obedience. We cannot earn God's forgiveness by forgiving others, yet we cannot ignore His command to extend the mercy we have received.
The challenge is simple: Don't wait for someone else to make the first move toward your obedience.
Scripture References: Matthew 6:14–15; Matthew 5:23–24; Ephesians 4:32; Romans 12:18.

L.O.A.D. Bible Study — Matthew 23:33–39
“I Would… But You Would Not”: The Savior’s Warning and Broken Heart
What happens when people surround themselves with religion yet refuse the God they claim to serve?
In Matthew 23:33–39, Jesus concludes His confrontation with the scribes and Pharisees with a sobering warning about judgment, rejected messengers, and accountability for innocent blood. Then His words turn to a heartbreaking lament over Jerusalem: He longed to gather its children, but they were unwilling.
In this L.O.A.D. Bible study, we examine the seriousness of resisting God’s truth, the compassion behind Christ’s warning, and the significance of His declaration that Jerusalem’s house would be left desolate. We also explore His closing words pointing toward the day He would be acknowledged as the One who comes in the name of the Lord.
The question reaches beyond Jerusalem: When the Lord calls us closer, are we willing to come?
