Almost one in every two crime-related contacts received by Ireland's national victims' support service last year related to assault, harassment or stalking. Haley Halpin form the Crime Victims Helpline (CVH) about how the service has supported 5,902 contacts in 2025, and provided 3,268 referrals to specialist victim support, criminal justice and community services. Founded just over 20 years ago, the helpline provides information and support to victims of crime in Ireland. The number of contacts supported by the charity last year fell by almost 1,000 contacts (967) compared to the previous year. Its latest annual report shows that assault accounted for 24% of recorded crime-related contacts, while harassment and stalking accounted for a further 21%.
