  • Agree or Disagree: The Podcast-Alicya Perreault-Taming Crazy-Confessions and Lessons
    Mental Health.

    Yes, it’s the summer. It’s hot. It’s time to relax. To clear you mind. To relax.

    Summer The time to refresh. The time to be clear.

    Very important.

    But, for some there is the back of your mind. Soon, ti will be fall. New job New grades. School. Some kind of transition.

    Or for others, while it is summer, you are dealing with anxiety, stress, and depression. There may be a number of reasons why. And you know what? It’s ok. Know you are not alone.

    Our guest today can relate.

    After years of battling crippling anxiety, depression and an obsessive-compulsive disorder, Alicya Perreault found herself at a crossroad. She could either accept things as they were and continue on the same path, or she could find another way through and fight it. She chose to fight.
    Part memoir, part self-help, Taming Crazy - Confessions and Lessons is a journey of strength, vulnerability, courage and laughter. Told with humour, truth and the occasional swear word, she shares the lessons she learned in her quest to climb out of the rabbit hole once and for all, often with hilarious results.
    This book is an honest, raw portrayal of how paralyzing anxiety, OCD, and depression can affect daily life. Most importantly, it is a story of hope.

    Alicya joins us on Agree or Disagree: The Podcast.

    Topics we cover include;
    -Her personal journey with anxiety.
    -Her research around it.
    -The discussion around mental health.
    -The process of writing and publishing the book.
    -Bullying
    -Emotions and how we deal with them
    -Ego
    -The power of mediation

    But what about yourself? For some this appears to be very easy. They exude self confidence the moment you see them. They own the room and grab your attention. For others, it’s a real struggle. For many personal reasons, loving and believing in yourself is a struggle. Because of wounded words some have said to you and have taken to heart.

    Self love is defined as regard for one's own well-being and happiness. Many see it as a key driver of success. It breeds confidence and helps you grow.

    Topics we cover include;
    -Defining Self Love and the scale of which you love yourself
    -How undervalued self love is
    -Is self love and asking for help a sign of weakness?

  • Agree or Disagree:The podcast-Reflections of Humboldt
    Welcome to a special Agree or Disagree:Facebook Live Event as we reflect on the outpouring of emotion

    Hockey. It’s a part of the identity of Canada.

    We all dream of playing.We all watch. Some of the best Canadian memories and moments are on the ice.

    Rain, snow, or shine, families would wake up at 5:00 AM to take their kid or kids to the rink. They will stay up late. There are many of nights that there would be games on the street or on ice and we would just…play.

    Then some would be good enough to advance to another level. And that dream of one day playing in the NHL would continue. For players. For broadcasters. For coaches.

    They would travel on busses down the highways and roads of this country. Pursuing the passion that they loved. It brought smiles to faces, bonds of friendship, and lessons learned.

    And now, that just seems…different.

    This weekend was a weekend of sorrow, sadness and grief. The Humboldt Broncos were on their way to a playoff game against the Nipawin Hawks. A crash killed 15 and injured 14 others.,

    It’s hard to say. It was hard to write.

    The outpouring of grief was felt across Canada and the world. You heard just a piece of that from Connor McDavid, Glen Gulutzan, Mike Babcock and Sheldon Kennedy. There was more. Much more.

    Where we go from here? How do we support the victims, some obvious, others connected in many different ways.

    Joining me is Adele Desjardins-Lepine.

  • Agree or Disagree: The Podcast- What's going on with the Kinder Morgan Pipeline? Markham Hislop.
    Kinder Morgan.

    It’s the pipeline of division.

    On one hand you have the perspective of some, depending on who you talk too, B.C. is very angry there is an angry province that the Federal Government approved the expansion of the Kinder Morgan Pipeline. It’s about land, protection, and environment.

    On the other hand, you have another province, Alberta, who insists that this project get off the ground. From their perspective, they need this to go through. They need jobs, money, and their economy.

    It’s a situation that has caused comments from both Premier’s. A wine ban, and large number of protesters, and a heavy debate on social media.

    Where do we go next? Hopefully our guest today can help us out.

    Markham Hislop from EnergiNews joins us.

    Topics we cover include;

    B.C. perpsective;
    -John Horgan
