This week’s passage from Luke 20v1-8 shows how Jesus uses his authority differently than the Pharisees, demonstrating the priorities of the kingdom of heaven.
Out of fear, the Pharisees use their authority to control people. Out of love, Jesus uses his authority to invite people back into relationship with the Father.
God always wanted relationship, and when we accept His love we are able to love Him back. From this place of relationship we are able to exercise our authority towards love, obedience and service.
