The other side of the brief return. This one was less electronic in sound, more guitar driven and I was really pumped up from seeing Del Amitri that May. Plus another Eighties band has a brief return with something new, General Public.
The brief return of the KMAG mix tape series! Life got in the way after 16 but at one point a year later, I found the time and inspiration to reive the series with new songs (or they were) in 1995. Enjoy after the last few being Best Of's or Holiday collections.
Under the wire and done! The last expansion for the 25th anniversary of Austintatious. This one could border on really being Loserposeurlooza II because I cut out a couple tracks that would've failed the "purity" test. Enjoy until the 1995 series arrives.
The revisiting of my collection with all that's 1994 continued and at the last minute, the good folks at allmusic.com pointed out a glaring in one selection. This led to rushed substitution but it fit in with what got yanked. Enjoy!
Merry Christmas (2020)! As I did with 1991-93, I revisited my collection and found more tunes which landed in 1994. So here's the first of what I call number four in the Austintatious 1994 series.
The final collection of great songs from 1994 that I remembered at the time I compiled these tapes.
This compilation contains songs that don't necessarily fit into the "Alternative" family for obvious reasons: Metal, Big Band, Humor, etc.; yet they're great. The title is poking fun at how festivals are getting monetized as Kapitalism always does…it poisons whatever it touches.
My first mix attempt with sound bites from my favorite show at the time and limited to the time constraints of a CD…it was 2000 AD then. Within the five years between this and 1995, I had accrued more Xmas compilations and singles.
The other side representing 1995's joy but my collection was starting to scrape the bottom to achieve the goal. Enjoy!
Another interruption regarding the 1994 hits…XMAS 1995! I might have lacked the time to do regular mixes, but I scraped together a new holiday compilation to spread the joy I was feeling.
