In Venezuela, 2 American citizens were arrested in a failed plot to invade the country and oust Nicolas Maduro. A Florida based former Green Beret, Jordan Goudreau has claimed responsibility for the operation, which Venezuelan authorities say they foiled. Goudreau said the men were part of an alleged mission called "Operation Gideon" launched before dawn on Sunday that entailed landing boats on the beach. In a state television address, Maduro showed what he said were the passports and other identification cards of what he claimed were two Americans described as employees of Silvercorp, a Florida-based company.

On Tuesday morning, ESPN aired its first Korean Baseball game after reaching an agreement with the league. One game will air on the ESPN family of networks each day, Tuesday through Sunday. ESPN announced that the games will primarily air “on ESPN2 and on the ESPN App.” The broadcasts are in English, with ESPN commentators calling the games remotely from their homes.
