As an immigrant coming from the US, which is a country that is named to be land of freedom, how do I adjust to all these differences? Can any foreigner even adapt to such inflexibility in Singapore?

There are a lot of amazing traditions in Singapore that are not known to foreigners. English is the first language in Singapore (新加坡), but Singaporeans mostly speak Singlish. Singlish is a combination of Chinese, English, some Malay and Hokkien words.   Learning Singlish can be quite difficult because Singaporeans talk very fast. There are a lot of words that they add onto the end like “lah, lor, meh, ah”. How to use all these words in the day to day conversations in Singapore, how to live like a local and become local Singaporean in a minute :)
