  • Suspiria (2018)
Suspiria (2018) is the hotly anticipated remake of the Dario Argento Giallo classic, and it takes the story and tone of the original film and does something wholly unique and innovative with it. Operating within the loosely defined confines of the original plot, the film follows Susie Bannion played by Dakota Johnson as she becomes the newest member of the Markos School of Dance only to find herself thrust into a plot to revitalize an ancient witch. Chris and Eric are joined by award-winning writer Jess Byard to talk about the Guadagnino's polarizing re-imagining of the film along with more than a little analysis of the film's actual lead, Tilda Swinton.

As always, you can follow Chris Stachiw at @KultureStach, Eric Kniss at @tychomagnetics and Kulture Shocked at @KultureShocked. The music is an original track from Eric Kniss of Wovoka. • WNUF Halloween Special
The WNUF Halloween Special is not only the final found footage film of Horrortober but also a film that transcends time and reality it would seem to showcase a seemingly lost Halloween night broadcast from local channel WNUF. Directed and written by Chris LaMartina, it's a love letter not only to anyone who watched TV in the '80s but also to horror fans looking for something truly unique. Chris is joined by The Projection Booth's Mike White for an in-depth discussion of the now genre classic as well as interviews with director Chris LaMartina and actor Paul Fahrenkopf (Frank Stewart) about the film's creation, filming, and the upcoming sequel. If you loved WNUF, make sure to head on over to the GoFundMe for the upcoming sequel and keep an eye on Chris' Twitter for updates and footage from the original and sequel.

  • Ghostwatch
Ghostwatch takes the found footage genre and not only flips it on its head completely but also creates one of the most unique and shocking television experiences of the last thirty years. Written by Stephen Volk and directed by Lesley Manning, the TV film features an ensemble cast of well-known BBC news personalities who look to determine if a house in rural London is truly haunted or if it's just a hoax. Chris and Eric are joined by The Projection Booth's Mike White to analyze the controversial program along with interviews with creator Stephen Volk and director Lesley Manning about the conception, airing, and legacy of the show.

  • Halloween (2018)
Halloween (2018) returns the franchise to its roots with the first true sequel to the original film that looks to rewrite the worst parts of the franchise while creating a new canonical storyline. Focusing on the struggle between a wisened Laurie Strode and a grizzled Michael Myers, Halloween (2018) tries to have its cake and eat it too by offering the original characters a worthy ending while attempting to set up a new line of sequels. Chris and Eric have a spoiler-filled discussion on the overhyped entry in the franchise that seems to be able to do no wrong.

  • The Taking of Deborah Logan
The Taking of Deborah Logan is another entry into the found footage genre that falls into every trap that the subgenre has to offer including being outright boring while also attempting to shock the audience. Written and directed by Adam Robitel, the film presents some interesting ideas about possession and disease but it ultimately falls short of being both a successful horror film or a worthy entry into the found footage subgenre. Chris and Eric are joined by award-winning writer Jess Byard to discuss both the film and the year the film came out along with a discussion on the state of found footage in 2018.

  • The Conspiracy
The Conspiracy is the directorial debut from writer/director Christopher MacBride and it sets itself apart from the found-footage/reality horror subgenre by focusing on real-world events along with crafting a believable narrative. It's a unique twist on the found-footage subgenre that works outside of the normal confines of the typical horror film to craft something wholly original, convincing, and terrifying all at the same time. Chris and Eric give their spoiler-free thoughts on the film along with interviews with the film's co-leads Aaron Poole (Aaron) and James Gilbert (Jim).

  • Venom
Venom is the first film in Sony's burgeoning Spider-man Villian Connected Universe and seemingly a direct sequel in tone and style to the Raimi Spider-Man films of the early '00s. The film stars Tom Hardy as the titular man fused with symbiote who must stop an evil Mark Zuckerberg stand-in from dominating the world by bringing down more of the goopy symbiotes. Chris and Eric are joined by Canadian director Matt Campagna to talk Hardy's accent "choice", where this movie stands in the pantheon of superhero films, and why this film needed to happen in the first place.

Written and directed by Stephen Cognetti, the films present a fresh approach to the found footage genre as well as creating some truly unique and memorable characters and scares. • Harakiri
Harakiri is not only one of the finest samurai films ever made but also a commentary on the rise of feudalism in Japan and its abuse of the people it sought to rule. The film stars Tatsuya Nakadai as desperate ronin who implores the head of a castle to allow him to commit seppuku inside its courtyard. Mike White joins Chris once again to discuss the final film of Samurai September and how it may be one of the cinema's greats.

  • The Predator
The Predator is not only the sixth film in the Predator franchise but also the first directed by Shane Black who previously starred in the first film. The film follows Boyd Holbrook and Jacob Tremblay as father and son who must work together with a group of PTSD-afflicted soldiers to not only fight back against the titular alien but also against the US military. It's a jumbled, poorly edited mess that doesn't live up to its potential and squanders the talents of everyone involved. Mike White joins Chris and Eric to talk about the film and its disappointing place in the Predator canon.
