A 5th Generation Seattle business is leaving the city because of crime/public safety/homeless RV problems at their shop in the SoDo neighborhood. KVI's John Carlson listens to the owner of Emmanuel's Rub and Upholstery Cleaning explain how public safety concerns for customers have gotten so bad that they've decided to move and re-locate.

KVI's John Carlson and Lars Larson discuss a new bill in the Washington Legislature that would impose new restrictions on when police can pull over drivers. The bill is proposed by Democratic lawmakers who control both the State House and Legislature which increases the likelihood that the bill will advance if not pass at some point this session. The irony is that the bill is proposed just over 5 years after Legislative Democrats and Gov. Jay Inslee approved a "distracted driving law" that forbids drivers to even hold a cell phone. The 2017 law is so strict it's illegal to hold a cell phone in your car while driving even if you're stopped at a red light.

House Bill 1238 and Senate Bill 5339 are called the "Washington Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act." Reykdal and Carlson diverge on the ethos that free meals in school should be means tested based on income qualification. Reykdal pitches his plan as a way to give middle and upper class families a break on costs to feed their kids at school, the burning question remains: will all kids actually want to eat the free school lunch meal or will most kids still bring their own food to eat rather than scarf down what the school offers.

As political progressives and Democrats ramp up their environmental outrage aimed at natural gas stoves, those so-called environmentalists, according to The Seattle Times, are urging people to shut down their gas burning fireplaces and use wood burning fossil fuel instead.
