In this episode, I talk about something that so many neurodivergent people quietly struggle with: why holding a job can feel nearly impossible — even when you're smart, capable, and hardworking.
For most of my life, I thought my inability to stay in jobs meant I was irresponsible or incapable of holding a job. But after learning about AuDHD, trauma, and how the nervous system works, I finally started to understand what was really happening.
In this episode, I share what I've learned about why traditional work environments often don't work for neurodivergent people. I talk about autonomy, control, burnout, masking, demand avoidance, perfectionism, and why so many of us feel like we're failing in systems that were never built for our brains in the first place.
I also share pieces of my own work history, not to center myself, but to show how common this pattern is among people who are autistic, ADHD, or both.
