I am now officially a published author! Aisuru leaked out a bit early in a few places, though official it doesn't come out until March 27th. Meanwhile my way overly tired self is reviewing some of the things I've learned from this first publication experience so far.

For a bit of a different guest, my buddy Madeline drops in to visit, laugh, and do a great interview with me about Aisuru! We talked about a TON of stuff, including some inside looks into how Aisuru came about and "behind the scenes" of the story (mildly spoilerish at times). Oh, I also made the official 2R announcement and the store release!

Aisuru’s launch date is revealed as well as other launch details in this over caffeinated episode including formats that will be available, platforms, and potential pricing. I also talk about some options that will not be available and why.

Specifically I talk a bit about why I’m really liking the manga series My Love Story!! before going into the main topic - a full discussion/review of Write. Publish. Repeat. The No-Luck-Required Guide to Self-Publishing Success by Sean Platt and Johnny B. Truant, hosts of the Self Publishing Podcast.

Other than fawning over my new whiteboard, this episode pretty much gets right to the point (*gasp*) as I talk about how I went about finding an editor for Aisuru, what the process has been like thus far, and what’s next for Aisuru!

With Aisuru still out in the wild, but due back soon, I’m at an in-between time with the writing so this week’s ramblingish episode features remarks about my new goodies, the new Zenbi Press logo, this weird in-between stuff time, and of course my video game playing.

Covering a variety of topics in today’s extempore episode including the conclusion of the YouTube situation, an apology for the MailChimp snafu, the next PS3 game I’m playing (spoiler alert: Final Fantasy XIII-2), Amazon’s abandoning the Breakthrough Novel Award for the Kindle Scout program, the Sterling and Stone Colonist Summit, and my return to working on Deviations. And still managed to keep it short(ish)!

First more details on the YouTube situation and my thoughts on Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (and the Chronicles release in general) then it's on to a super fun topic: the business of indie writing and taxes! Wait, don't run away! I know, I know, who likes either but still it's important stuff to know so I'll share what I've learned on setting up a business and on the paying of two kinds of taxes: sales and income!

For the start of season three, after a bit of venting on issues with WordPress and a doing plug for the newsletter, I discuss some of the potential contenders for the 2R position, i.e. my second novel to be released after Aisuru comes out in a few months. After reviewing some of the more unlikely choices, I focus on my top contenders for deeper thoughts on both.

It’s the final episode of Season 2 and 2014, so I reflect on my writing life this year: what was good, what was bad, and the in-between stuff as well as how I did on my 2014 goals. I also share the list of top five (or so) episodes of the show in terms of listens before wrapping up by revealing my goals/plans for 2015!
