On this weeks episode I welcome back my good friend Ryan Laird to talk about week 1 of the NFL season. Beginning with the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar Jackson vs Patrick Mahomes on Thursday Night Football. We make our predictions for all the week one games and dive into our thoughts and predictions on the NFL season. Will Kansas City continue their dominant dynasty? Or will there be a new Super Bowl champion crowned early next year? How will the rookie QB class this year pan out...will they thrive at their respected franchises or will they force teams to go back to the drawing board once again?
On this weeks Episode, COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!! Week 0 has come and gone, and we already had a massive upset take place. #10 Florida State was shocked by Georgia Tech 24-21 on a last second field goal. The era of the 12 team playoff has officially begun and Florida State looked to right the ship after failing to make the CFB Playoff last year and lose to Georgia 63-3 in the Orange Bowl. Florida State QB DJ Uiagalelei, struggled to push the ball downfield with inaccurate deep ball throws. Georgia Tech led by QB Haynes King and new Defensive Coordinator Tyler Santucci, held FSU to only 98 rushing yards while running for over 190 on the Seminole. Florida State now has a massive hole to climb out of and their chances of making the ACC Championship and the CFB Playoff have nearly faded away. Is Georgia Tech the real deal? Will FSU bounce back?
Week 1 of the college football season begins with major matchups that will shape college football rankings and playoff implications instantly. At Noon - Georgia vs. Clemson, 3:30 - Miami vs Florida, Night Game - Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M, and Sunday - USC vs. LSU. All these matchups and more have the potential to be deciding factors for later in the season when the 12 teams are selected for the playoff. WHOS IN?
With the final preseason game in the books, the NFL regular season begins soon and who will climb the mountain again and call themselves Super Bowl Champions? Will the Ravens and Lamar Jackson finally achieve playoff success? Will Josh Allen and Buffalo finally get over the hump? How big an impact will Aaron Rodgers have with the Jets? Will Detroit finally make their 1st Super Bowl? Or will Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes continue their dominance and continue the dynasty that is beginning to rival Brady in New England?
On this weeks Episode, the CeeDee Lamb hold out continues in Jerry World. The Dallas Cowboys need CeeDee Lamb on the field otherwise who does Dan Prescott have to throw the football to? Jerry Jones all offseason was expressing how he is going "all in" which apparently means make no additions to the offense other than old Zeke Elliot. If CeeDee is not on the field the Cowboys wide receiving core might be worse than New Englands situation. The value CeeDee has to Dallas is monumental and Jerry Jones needs to get a contract done with him. He pulled the same stunt years ago with Emmitt Smith, however that was resolved. Will Jerry finally pay Lamb? Or is this the start of the downfall of the Cowboys chances at making it back to the post season?
College Football Returns this Saturday, August 24th, and the most notable game is an early ACC matchup between the Florida State Seminole and the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets. Will FSU start the season off on the right foot in their drive to get to the College Football Playoff? Or was the massive loss to Georgia in the Orange Bowl a sign of things to come for FSU?
The QB debate in Pittsburgh heats up as both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are looking to claim the QB1 spot for week 1 in Atlanta. Both QB's have struggled and it begs the question...What does this say about the Steelers team as a whole? Will they have an actual offense for the first time since Big Ben retired or will they continue this run of mediocrity at the QB position and the offense as a whole? All that and more on this weeks episode!
On this weeks episode, I discuss the play by the 2024 1st round quarterbacks in Week 1 of the NFL Preseason. Quarterbacks Caleb Williams, Michael Penix Jr, Bo Nix, JJ McCarthy, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye are all looked at as the future of the NFL as far as quarterbacks are concerned. All these first round quarterbacks except Drake Maye, showed flash and promise of what is to come in the future of these NFL Franchises. Will Caleb Williams become the best QB in Bears History? Did JJ McCarthy Land in the Prefect Spot? Will Jayden Daniels be like Lamar Jackson? Is Bo Nix the next Drew Brees for Sean Payton? How Long Until Atlanta is Michael Penix Jr's Team? Does Drake Maye have a chance to succeed with New England? Time is going to tell whether or not these 6 first round Quarterbacks will pan out.
New Englands Wide Receiver Core is rated 32/32 according to (PFF) and now having cut veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster, New England has Wide Outs that are great 3 and 4 Options but none have the ability or the skill of a Number 1 Receiver Option like Justin Jefferson or Jamar Chase. With Joe Milton, New Englands 7th round QB outperforming Drake Maye, does this make it more likely Drake Maye will be a bust in the NFL?
Was Arthur Smith the right hire to be the Steelers OC? Is Russel Wilson Washed? Will Justin Fields Turn his Career Around? And what teams will Shock the College Football World? All This On This Weeks Episode.
On this weeks episode, with the college football season approaching at the end of this month, the Michigan Sign stealing scandal has experienced more issues, Head Coach Sherrone Moore and coach Connor Stallion deleted 54 text messages the day the story broke about their violations of NCAA rules and regulations. Will Michigan and Head Coach Sherrone Moore be punished severely or will they just receive a slap on the wrist?
EA CFB 25 has been out for less than a month and has already generated $500 Million in revenue and has become one of the most popular games in recent memories. EA has struck gold with this game and put pressure on Madden to hold up to this standard of gameplay.
With the NFL regular season quickly approaching, and the pre season in full swing, who will compete and win their divisions this year and which teams will need to do more work to try and compete for the division crown? How and where will the New York Jets finish in the AFC East now that Aaron Rodgers will be healthy? Will the Cowboys still be viable even though all of the noise they have been making this off-season with contract negotiations? And will Kansas City continue their reign of dominance over the NFL and continue their dynasty?
6 Rookie Quarterbacks were taken in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix Jr, JJ McCarthy, and Bo Nix. Which quarterbacks will thrive and succeed this year, and which ones will get off to a rough start in their careers?
On this week's episode, I dive into the long anticipated contract extensions that were rumored for Quarterbacks Jordan Love (Green Bay) and Tua Tagovailoa (Miami). Both Quarterbacks have been widely praised and equally criticized for their play on the field. Both have their pros and cons as to what an NFL team wants in their franchise quarterback. Jordan Love had a rough first few years and was considered a bust for a time, but from Week 11 onward last season, Jordan Love went on a tear and started to turn some heads with his play as he rallied off 6 wins, 18 Touchdowns to only 1 interception, a perfect passer rating and added a blowout win in the wild card round at Dallas and Had the eventual NFC Champion 49ers on the ropes. Tua has had an up and down career up to this point, and many wonder if he elevates the Dolphins or if the Dolphins elevate Tua. Regardless, both QB's have earned their way to $200 Million Dollar Contracts, and one question still remains....Are they worth it?
The Ups and Downs of Marvel have been startling since Avengers Endgame. Marvel fans have been wondering what direction the MCU was heading. Missing the next "Thanos" level threat, this past weekend at Comic-Con Marvel has taken a massive swing. After a long wait, Robert Downey Jr is finally making his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but not as Iron Man....But as Dr. Doom! Downey Jr will play the long anticipated villain Dr. Victor Von Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Will this pay off for Marvel? Or does this have the potential to be the biggest mistake Marvel has yet to make. With the Russo Brothers back and directing the next 2 Avenger films, there are high hopes that the Russo's and Downey Jr will bring the MCU back to the top of the mountain in the film industry. Will it pay off? Time will tell.
On this weeks episode, I talk about the recent news about 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk demanding a trade from San Francisco. Failing to reach a long term agreement, how will this affect the 49ers going forward and where will Aiyuk continue his career? Will this hinder progress made by Brock Purdy or will this be a chance for Purdy to really shine and prove that he is indeed the future of 49ers football in the bay?
Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever has brought in so much buzz and interest to the WNBA since entering the league this year. She has brought attention and a spark to the league which the WNBA has been looking for! But what does this say about the league leaving Clark off of the Women's Olympic Team? Especially since her All-Star Team went toe to toe and beat the women's Olympic Team?
Is the success of Nick Caserio the biggest indictment on Bill Belichicks Career Right Now? After years of having to sit through and watch the former coach of New England Butcher every draft year in and year out, Nick has created one of the most talented young and upcoming teams in the NFL with the Houston Texans, led by rising star QB CJ Stroud. Is Nicks Success the biggest reason why Bill does not have another NFL Head Coaching Gig?
The Top 10 Coaches in the NFL currently are those who are specifically great in one area, and with many talk shows ranking coaches and players before the season begins every single year, I rank my top 10 NFL Coaches currently going into the 2024 NFL Season. All that and more on this weeks episode.
On this weeks episode, I discuss the tragic incident that took place this past weekend at Donald Trumps Rally in Butler Pennsylvania. An assassination attempt was made on the former President of the United States. The shot grazed Former President Trumps ear and unfortunately two bystanders were left in critical condition and one more tragically losing their life. This is a time in America where we all need to set aside our differences, it doesn't matter if you're democrat or republican, we are all Americans and we need to stand firm in these trying times. With the election just months away, Donald Trump has become the sure fire favorite to become President of The United States again.
Aaron Rodgers...One of the greatest Quarterbacks of all time...or is he? From a talent perspective, 1000000% Yes, but as far as postseason success and super bowls, Aaron Rodgers is not in G.O.A.T. Category. I talk about other quarterbacks who aren't looked at as better than Aaron Rodgers, but the postseason stats prove they're closer than anybody thinks. I also discuss my personal Super Bowl and CFB Playoff Bubble, Teams I Know can win their respective championships and those who have an outside punchers chance to win both. All on this weeks episode!
In this weeks installment, with 1 week away from the long anticipated EA College Football 25, I take a minute and dive into the various aspects of the long awaited game! 11 Years since the last entry in the historic sports franchise, NCAA 14 is now in the past and the College Football series looks to rebound and possibly contest for game of the year, will EA deliver on the start of the new College Football Game Series?
NBA Free Agency Winding Down, and to nobody's surprise, the Lakers, despite having LA, Anthony Davis, and LeBron, fail to draw in any new top free agents to join the Lakers squad. Once again, the Lakers executives cannot deliver in free agency. Are the championship aspirations ever going to be met in LA? Time will tell, but the future of the Lakers rest once again on LeBron becoming super human and the Health of Anthony Davis with no other superstars to help them in the quest to get back to the NBA Finals and bring a title back to Los Angeles.
The New York Jets have been the doormat of the NFL for nearly 20 years. After losing Aaron Rodgers last year in the first game, the Jets look to reach their full potential with this talented roster assembled, but despite all the talent, injury history and inconsistency on the offensive line hinder the hopes of the Jets making a deep playoff push. Will the Jets finally make themselves relevant again or will they falter again and stay in mediocrity? All that and more on this weeks episode.
On this weeks episode, with the election drawing closer, and after their first presidential debate, is it looking clear that President Biden is unfit to lead this country? NBA free agency is off to a hot start, PG 13 to the 46ers, Klay To The Mavs, Mikale Bridges to New York, and Chris Paul to San Antonio. And how well will Bronny play with his father LeBron on the Lakers? Will it work? Or will this turn out to be one massive mistake? All that on this weeks episode!
