Dr. Jasmine Ward is a resident of Arlington, Texas, where she lives with her husband and four children. She is a proud Tuskegee and UAB grad, currently serves as Director of Programs at Abounding Prosperity in Dallas, TX, and holds a faculty appointment at Texas Women’s University.

Jasmine is the Founder of Black Ladies in Public Health (BLiPH), an organization that promotes scholarship, service, self-care, support and safe space for Black Ladies interested in, training and working in public health. 

With more than 125 cities, 75 countries, and 8,000+ members represented in Black Ladies in Public Health, BLiPH seeks to dismantle barriers to equity in public health outcomes and career opportunities, demystify the work and workforce of public health, and build a pipeline of future leaders in the field.

transitioning from a military trajectory to public health

her experience as a public health intern with Project IMHOTEP (and mine with the Ferguson Fellowship!)

Breanna J. McDaniel hails from College Park, GA and is the author of debut picture book, Hands Up! She is also a 2nd year PhD researcher at the University of Cambridge, where her research is focused on narrative inquiries into readers' responses to the depiction of black children as food in contemporary picture books. In addition to her growing body of scholarship and her creative work she is taking strides to unite communities within her field to encourage broader representation of children from diverse backgrounds. To this end she is also organizing a conference in Glasgow in August of this year for REIYL (Researchers Exploring Inclusive Youth Literature), an initiative she co-founded with colleague Joshua Simpson. She is a proud alumna of Emory University and Simmons University!

Kier & Them is a family vlog featuring Kier Gaines, a special education consultant and mental health professional, fiancée Noémie Guillaume, an IP and Technology lawyer, and their toddler daughter, Emery! The family of 3 is based in the Washington, DC-area and can be found sharing hilarious, but thought-provoking experiences on family dynamics, parenting, and healthy relationships. Kier & Them was created in 2017, but gained traction after their engagement video went viral on Youtube in 2018. Since then, they've created an Instagram page featuring the real star, almost 2-year old Emery. Both their vlog and Instagram page have caught the eyes of many social media influencers such as Good Morning America, Buzz Feed, Complex Magazine, and District Motherhued, to name a few. Kier & Them has generated over 500,000 views on YouTube with almost 20k followers on Instagram. The Kier & Them family wishes to use their platform to highlight the real-life experiences of millennial families in a fun and healthy way.

Chantal Maurice has booked numerous Television Co-Star roles on shows such as: Blue Bloods, Quantico, The Blacklist, Mr. Robot & more. She has also been featured in several commercial campaigns including: Burger King, Air Fast Tickets & Assurance Wireless. Most recently, she was seen in the HALLMARK Christmas movie, "Last Vermont Christmas".

 

 In 2016, Chantal wrote, starred in and produced her first short film titled, "Edge of Harmony" that follows the journey of Harmony Bessler, a troubled Jazz singer in the 1930s. Edge of Harmony was accepted into 6 film festivals and won the award of Best Musical Drama in the 2018 Cutting Room International Short Film  Festival in NYC.

 

She is currently in Post-Production for her 2nd short film, "Loreen's Gotta Boogie". "Loreen's Gotta Boogie tells the story of a young Filipina girl in the 1970's who, against her parents' wishes, ventures out on a journey to follow her dreams of becoming a professional dancer.

 

She is currently recurring as the role of Joanna in The CW's Reboot of the hit soap opera "DYNASTY".
