Bidhi Mandal is the Vice Executive Director of the Innovating Environmental Health in Nepal. An initiative built off the vision to create visible impact in her community and the world. A body of work that continues to impact the lives of many across the globe.

Over the years, her team has completed a couple of projects ranging from: buying life-saving oxygen during the second wave of the COVID to the Davis Peace Project that taught hundred of students from Nepal and China about air pollution.

Lastly, She is a Global Scholar at Babson College where she is studying towards her Bachelors degree, with concentrations in Global business management and Economics in Boston Massachusetts.

Our guest this week on the Leaders Podcast, Nitiya Walker is a social entrepreneur and media professional. She is passionate about economic empowerment for women and is the Executive Director and Founder of Seeds of Fortune Inc., featured in Forbes, Black Enterprise, Huffington Post, in which she helps minority teen girls apply for college scholarships, teach career and financial management skills.

She believed it was her duty to help ease the financial burdens of those in her generation; therefore she created a scholarship program to help teen girls obtain local and national scholarships called Seeds of Fortune Inc. as well as a blog Walker Finance and Media, highlighting financial tips, and the intersection between media and business.

Over the last six-plus years, about 80 girls have graduated from the program, and they have accepted $8 million in scholarships and grants. A true depiction of Nitiya’s personal mantra “we lift as we climb, and leave no one behind,” described the responsibility that people felt toward one another.

Our guest this week, on the leader's Podcast, David Kroboksy is the co-founder of Skatify, a nonprofit organization that works with local organizations in Africa to build skate parks, distribute donated boards and engage underprivileged youth in purposeful activity. After David’s first visit to Ethiopia, he witnessed firsthand that the parks were not only creating a recreational activity but a safe community.

In partnership with organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of America and BBYO Inc., David has reached an additional 1,600 teens in the U.S. who have attended his fundraising events and led more than 90 young volunteers. This year, Skatify will build the first skateboard park in Zambia, and Ethiopia’s second park. By collaborating with local organizations in developing nations.

Our guest this week, Toiell Washington is the co-founder of Black Boston, a community organization that aims to uplift and support Black Bostonians through educational programming, political advocacy and event planning. The organization’s mission is to “actively dismantle and fight for the elimination of racial inequities while promoting creativity and solidarity within the Black community in the Greater Boston Area.”

Adding to her body of work, Toiell founded a gaming company called, the master's tools, inspired by the social theory “the Master’s Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master’s House” by Audre Lorde, her favourite Black feminist scholar. It is through her company that Toiell aims to address systems of oppression and telling the stories of marginalized people across a range of topics and social movements.

She is a recent graduate of Salem State University where she attained her bachelor of science in sociology. In this episode, Toiell takes us down her memory lane as she unpacks her journey to founding Black Boston and personal experiences that shaped the trajectory of her life.

Our guest this week on The Leader's Podcast, Kgolagano Rakhudu is an award-winning Mail & Guardian 200 Young South African who is a Basketball   Operations Professional and Social Entrepreneur. His mission aims to use sports as a vehicle for purpose and meaningful existence for youth in the   Royal Bafokeng Nation the African continent at large.

At the cusp of his career, after years of coaching in the Bafokeng region, in 2018 he was named head coach of the team Africa and the Middle   East at the Junior NBA International Championship, held in Orlando, Florida.   He led the team to win the championship after beating the Canadian national team 93-75, a milestone that would catapult his trajectory in the industry.

Our next guest on the thirteenth episode of The Leader’s Podcast is Jesse Forrester (@jesse_forrester).

Jesse Forrester is the founder and CEO of a startup called “Mazi”, a service company that is ushering the future of e-mobility in Africa at scale. He is better known as a man who wears a cloak of many colors and stands not only as a commendable event host, but also as a Green Tech Pioneer, leading innovative African solutions within the Food, Water and Energy nexus.

In January 2019, this young man and his co-founder Wuntia Gomda, won the esteemed 2019 Zayed sustainability Prize from a competitive pool of 3,000 applicants around the globe. The duo had won the prize after designing the living machine, a wastewater treatment system which has the capacity to clean 300,000 litres of water annually.

Today Jesse is based in Nairobi, Kenya where he is working on the next leg of his conglomerate with Mazi mobility. He is converting matatu diesel engines into cheaper electric vehicles across east africa.
