New York City Council voted last night to cut the police budget by $1 billion (from a $6 billion budget). What if council is wrong? If you watch the news, you would get the distinct impression that the world has gone mad. I have heard many say that they want to tear down the system (as if what would replace it would be better or THEY would be the ones who got to build the new system).It is easy to tear down. I preempted my regularly scheduled podcast to play Senator Tim Scott’s June 17th  Speech on floor of US Senate. It was the 5th Anniversary of Mother Emmanuel church shooting, and Scott had been the point person on the Justice Act in the Wake of the Death of George Floyd.Senate Minority Whip, Dick Durbin (D-IL) called Scott’s legislation “token.” Scott addresses this and other issues related to getting this legislation passed.Please note that there is a long pause 42 seconds into Scott’s speech as he talks about the Mother Emanuel church shooting.
