We are moving towards Xmas and with that, there is always room to introduce a new fan of the world of horror...so we are doing that today. James Dean is fresh off directing his newest film called XXX-mas! Starring one of our own and friend of the show Jonathan May! James is no spring chicken and has been working in and on movies for a while now. A huge horror buff, James joins to talk with Mark Bland and Jason Kull about the production, his costs and address things that Mark brings up regarding other movies in the same vein and how he approached that as he made this movie. But before that, Mark and Jason have to talk some politics and this week was great with Hunter Biden stating that he would like to do any depositions or interviews regarding his "crimes" in a public forum. The public aspect made the republicans blush fast and backpedal because everyone can watch and see the things they want to be able to make up and put out there. Instead they now have a person wanting to go public and out them for the bad people they are...and it seems this is becoming the norm. People want to out bad people, especially republicans and their supporters. Finally, it is Week three of the TOPC: Biggest TV/Movie Jerks of ALL TIME! We have some heavyweights moving into this weeks bracket, including a recent final four player named George Costanza. What's interesting is that even with a change of topic and focus, the idea of being the lovable jerk is coming through in this competition too. It's what helped get us the Best TV character of All time...and now with some movie charcters in the mix, it's helping us find the people that could move thru. Did Costanza make it through...take a listen and find out!
John Kiehne, congressional candidate, joins us for this after Thanksgiving episode. First up, it seems that Mark Bland and Jason Kull keep discussing this run up to Trump in 2024. And to do that effectively, they need State house candidate Jenna Roberson to join them and bring a womans touch to so much Trump mansplaining. And in this case Trump is explaining that he has the bigliest and bestliest rallies and everyone should care about it. Trump keeps stating the lawyers and judges of America are wrong for charging him for doing illegal things and crimes that others go to jail for. Next up joins John Kiehne. John is running for congress against Ann Wagner in the St. Louis area. To get the seat in the heavily Red State, John has to get the word out about his policies and politics. John joins to explain that he has a background in Music and tell the guys a littel about his past. Then John sits in for the Hot Seat where people get to know a little better about him and what two foods when put together are just amazing deliciousness in your mouth! Finally, John and crew discuss his policies and politics regarding womens rights and abortions plus much, much more. finally the Second week of the Biggest Jerks in TV/Movie history are being run down and this week has some heavyweights that could end up winning the entire tournament. Then again there are a few people that haven't been put into the game yet. Who will reign supreme and who is the biggest jerk of all time...we will all find out!
Jonathan May makes his Triumphant return to the QNow and boy do we have some special things to talk about in the world of politics! Fresh off making a new horror film for this season coming up, the actor of XXX-mas, joins Mark Bland and Jason Kull to talk about his life, the movie coming up and all the things that go into making Jonathan, well Jonathan! But that is not all... Markwayne Mullen and Kevin McCarthy finally said the quiet part out loud this week when they went full on mental illness and started trying to physically assault other memebers of congress and even guests to Capitol Hill. First up Markwayne of Oklahoma decided to try and get in the face of a Teamster that was a guest on capitol hill. Evidently the two men had words on SOCIAL MEDIA and the republican just couldn't let Social Media go...so he tried starting a fight in the Senate chamber before being punked by Bernie Sanders and told to act like an adult. In another section of the Capitol, Kevin McCarthy the whiny former Speaker of the house elbaowed and tried to physically attack another republican because he is mad everyone turned on them. Mark and the guys discuss all of this craziness happening! Then, for his triumphant return, Mark put together a special Tournament of Pop culture that might become a larger fight. Mark chose 16 people to put up against each other for the title of Biggest/Best Jerk in a movie or TV show. An amazing topic that has a ton of opportunities and people that can be thrown into the mix coming up. Who do you think should be in future tournaments...did your favorite movie/TV jerk make this tournament right here? And we definitely have strong competition in this breakdown. But this is discussed live on the show and worth your time to check out. Finally, it's been a while but Fxck My Life has been on the internet for many years. We used to bring it up on the show all the time, but things change and time moves one. With that said, the return of FML comes to the Qnow and boy are their some doozy's to deal with on this Episode!
Election 2023 came and went, and we all learned that 2024 could be a bad year for being a republican. But that did not stop candidate Jenna Roberson from joining once again and bringing her female touch to the show! With all the players jockeying for position, a few states had 2023 elections! Ohio decided to add Abortion and Marijuana to the rights that their citizens have....very LIBERAL OF THEM. And Kentucky elected a democrat for governor, showing that even red states typically, are changing up their tune a little. Mark Bland and Jason Kull discuss this Jenna and discuss what 2024 truly holds for the libs and cons. It seems while everyone was not watching, Britney Spears released a tell all book and one of the craziest things that came out of it was her story of dating a young Justin Timberlake and the decisions that they made together many years ago. Dealing with aboriton in this election year, it is only fitting that their story would reverberate with the nation. Plus Mark and Jason went to a Metallica show and Mark dealt with a parking lot nightmare after the show. It's all hands on deck as they breakdown their trip to the dome! Finally, The Ranker review is sometimes more difficult to guage based on the topics and this was a week to focus on the topics. With that being said, The Top NFL QB's of All Time is the list our friends here break down and It is truly something. Maybe there are names you aren't thinking of in that top 10...well this is why they break it all down. Plus Mark breaks out a letter or two from the listeners to try and help them fix their lives!
Well it has been a hell of a week in the world of politics and everything around it. Jenna Roberson joins back with the show to help Mark Bland and Jason Kull discuss what is going on. First up Mark and the peeps discuss his amazing Cracker Barrel moment and how it showcases how the world is starting to fall apart. And why would a company take such a crazy stance that is obviously ludacris...but here we are getting ready for the trash that is gonna be 2024 and things are leading down a certain path. Next up, Trump is losing is weekly now about the judges, the lawsuits and this week his family is sitting down and discussing his less than special dealings. But the Party of the GOP is in shambles. Ken Buck is pulling out and telling the world they lost their way. The Qnow and Mark and Jason been stating this since Trump won in 2016 and everyone laughed at them for that. Here we are, the speaker is crazy. The memebers are nuts...and even red state stalwarts like Ken Buck are denouncing and running away from the party. If Trump loses in 2024, can they even survive? Next up, St. Louis Native Cori Bush rode her wave to Capitol hill in 2020. Making a name during the Michael Brown situation, she felt like a fresh breath of air for the STL. But now walking into 2024, Cori recieves news that Wesley Bell, another prominent POC in the STL political scene is coming for her seat. Mark, Jenna and Jason discuss this new challenger and whether Cori can hold on to her seat. Plus what are the people in the area stating when asked about their opinion of Cori and her political moves. Finally, Mark has a list of one liners and funny things that are compiled for radio and TV people each week. Zingers to let you know they are the funny ones. Mark gets a list compiled for the show and then the three judge whether these are truly good lines or just taking pot shots for the sake of being mean. You decide as you listen along!
We had it wrong all along. It was never gonna be a Civil War. The country is too interconnected and the states are on top of each other. Can't draw a east/west line or any other at this point. So everyone will have to be fair game in the new Trump led war on voters/citizens. Which means it will be the Real American PURGE. That's what they are gearing up for. Jenna Roberson returns to hang out with Mark Bland and Jason Kull. Hopefully this time Mark will not butcher the name of this candidate for HD-63 in Missouri! But this time around they have a few things to talk about politically and a ranker review game to show and teach Jenna about! First up everyone except Mark is now hip to the name of the new House Speaker, which is a gentleman named Mike Johnson. Problem is that Mike is known for being a nationalistic and trump supporting person. Putting those things together shows that the republicans are now all extremists and looking for ways to attack and hurt people. They can't accept their consequences for their attitudes and actions anymore and it is funny. This new man will be the ruin of the entire party. Also, Trump is definitely learning consequences for his actions but it seems he has given up on trying to pretend to campaign anymore and instead has resorted to his old "Don't Vote" message that failed him in the 2020 election. This time around everyone is hip to his dumb moves and Mark calls out that he is setting this up to use as an excuse AGAIN. Everything is an admission of guilt with this man. Finally it is Halloween and the guys decided to do a Ranker Review of the Most Terrifying horror figures of all time. Sure there are the classics like Frankenstein and Dracula, but what about Jason and Freddy? Where does Michael hit the list, or does he at all? Who is weird that you are not thinking about? Tune in and listen as they breakdown and figure out who is the scariest of them all! Happy Halloween!
We are not a podcast. We are a real radio show on FOX News Radio and CBS Radio affiliates. We are the best St. Louis political minds, and the best liberal minded show in the entire midwest! On this episode of The Qnow we welcome Pyrus Wade to the show to talk about his past, his upbringing in music and for him to play us some of his quality stuff...and he did not disappoint. First up, the boys welcome Pyrus to the show and get right into the topics. They are trying for a new speaker of the house but it is failing for Jim Jordan, who thought for sure he was a shoe in...BUT...he found out how painfully unpopular he was. So how did he react? He had some friends send aggresive and taunting texts to fellow republicans that he needed the vote from. He attacked their wives and all of it. It was craziness. Next up we have Old Donnie Trump and the gag order that he immediately ignored. This man is doing all the wrong things and it is going to land him in jail...as if the treason shouldn't have already. Then guys discuss this trend. Then it is on to Music stylings of Pyrus Wade, a local St. Louis musician. Wade grows up in North St. Louis county but eventually ended up in California! Back in the lou, the man is getting his name out there and we are blessed to have him on our show! Finally, we do a tournament of pop culture, the 2023 Sweet 16 of Horror movies. We have 16 new movies battling it out this year for our horror love and the gents really put the time in to make sure the right movie is picked. Was your favorite on this list? How did it fare? All this and much more on this episode of the Qnow!
We have made it to the finale of the Best TV Characters of all time! Four men enter, one man leave! Who will reign supreme? Andy Echele shows up to help us decide this Tournament of Pop Culture. Andy is a old warrior at these things, so he should easily be able to help us figure out the winner. First up we discuss Israel and Hamas and the war erupting for the 1000th time in the middle east. This time they are really taking it to each other with 1000's of dead and bombings constant. But is this Bidens fault? Far from it. Mark and the guys discuss and give you a great perspective to view this from. Next up Andy brings up that he is not a fan of the $15 minimum wage and this sets Mark and Andy into an amazing discussion about current economics and who to blame for the high prices. Plus Mark figures out that Andy is viewing everything through rose colored glasses. Is food service jobs just for HS students or is it a normal job like Mark says...tune in and listen to this Epic battle. Finally the TOPC is here. Best TV Character of All time. We are down to the final four! Cartman, Bundy, Powers and Kramer are gonna duke it out to see who really is the best TV character of all time. So who would you pick? Who is going to reign supreme? And if a job was only good 30% of the time....what job would that be? We take some guesses to end the show!
Jenna Roberson who is running for Missouri HD-63 based in St. Charles County, MO is the guest on this episode of The QNow. First up, Mark and Jason introduce Jenna to the fans of The Qnow and discuss her upbringing in north county St. Louis and we find out that Mark and Jason are going to be going to the Field of nightmares Haunted Attraction at Brookdale farms in Eureka. This leads to Mark and Jay asking and finding out about Jenna's love or dislike of Halloween and the entire autumn vibe! Next up the peeps get into the politics and discuss Kevin McCarthy losing his speakership after he went out of his way to be his own worst enemy. Now he is without the power he wanted and others are in command of what is becoming a crazy time on Capitol Hill. This all comes on the heels of the Trump Fraud case in NY that already underway. Mark and the crew discuss Trump getting a gag order in court and being shut down by the judge. But is this really the end of Trump...Mark asks the real question...will Trump still get elected? Finally it is time for the final round of the Tournament of Pop Culture: Best TV Character of All TIme. We have had some real heavyweight contenders in this tournament and this show leads to the final character to join the other 3 in the championship on the next show! So you are gonna wanna tune into that! Also the guys grill Jenna on the HOTSEAT and we find out a little more about this Candidate in Missouri!
On this episode of the show we are back to our old normal ways and decided to talk some politics. Mark Bland and Jason Kull are noht here to entertain you for a bit. First up, Trump is being ordered to dissolve his businesses and he is becoming unhinged it seems. Trump has gon eon record to state that he wants to imprison his rivals and anyone that he doesn't like, while charging them with trreason. Mark and Jay discuss the likelihood of all of this and the fact that Trump is telling people out loud the mean things he wants to do to people. It's weird coming from a former president. Next up is the 3rd bracket round of the Tournament of Pop Culture: Best Tv characters of all time. This time around we have Big bird entering the fray along with Arthur Spooner who is the chracter from King of Queens, but the guys mess up and think it is the name of the George Costanza's father Frank. So the guys discuss from the point of view of Frank in Seinfeld. Then again it's a simple mistake and people can write them on social media to let the guys know how dumb they are. Finally, what is the girlfriend effect? Well Mark and Jason discuss how having a girlfrined makes you more attractive to other females. Plus the guys discuss some local fare and try to fill in the blanks on some country songs!
