In 1974, the “Welfare Queen” is born in the pages of the Chicago Tribune. To earn her title, Martha Miller used dozens of identities, and a collection of fake twins and triplets, to defraud the government of hundreds of thousands of dollars. But her crimes are not limited to the people she duped, because Martha Miller turned Americans against the poor.
