The proper name of  the Act is the Respect for Marriage Act.

The case, Reynolds v United States 98 US 145 (1879), proves the folly of believing that you have any religious freedom to act on your beliefs, contrary to what the supporters of this Act say. Here is a nice summary of the case here.
