Growing as a couple is important, but you don't want to lose who you were before you were in a relationship. Keeping your individuality only makes the team better.

Should your partner judge you on your past relationships or who you may have been before knowing each other? Does it really matter how you used to be? Jason and Karal don't totally agree on this one...you be the judge.

Learning from your significant other no matter how many years you've known each other is key in a relationship. If you don't learn and grow, you may end up in a stagnant place as an individual or even as a couple. We don't want that to happen. Some things you learn from each other are going to be funny, but others are more life lessons. Did Jason and Karal learn something about each other on this episode - yep, they sure did.

It's been a few weeks, but we're back! We finish up this epic road trip, but more importantly share something that's helped us keep our relationship and friendship - the importance of being spontaneous. Sometimes it's ok to be predictable, but sometimes it's more fun to live on the edge (whatever "living on the edge" means to you) because you may enjoy something new. 

Jason and Karal balance each other out in many ways. One way is with their individual and unique humor. Is it really funny if people aren't laughing as hard as you are? Another way they balance each other is being spontaneous vs. predictable. One isn't better than the other and there are benefits to both in a relationship (friendship and romantic) depending on what's going on. Parents do a lot for their children that they may not understand until they're older. One of them is moving from an urban-tad suburban area (we're talking 5 minutes from DC and 3 minutes from the Metro/train/subway) to the true suburbs all for the kids. When both parents work in DC, having easy access to "the city" is a commuter's dream (or at least for Jason and Karal it was). But, moving can also be stressful for numerous reasons. Throughout the process, perspective was key and so was staying focused on the end goal - sell the house and move to the suburbs...for the kids. There are so many steps along the way and different realizations including those from a special guest.

Perspective is key in so many situations. Jason and Karal reflect on some of the experiences they had growing up in different parts of the DC Metro area and give their take on how the news portrays certain parts of the area. Flashback to a few childhood moments that left lasting memories.
