This past weekend, Pastor Jim presented us with “The List.” The List is comprised of 1st Corinthians 13:4–8, which is the love chapter and Galatians 5:22, which lists the fruit of the spirit. He said, “God expects us to love others like it’s listed in these verses. It’s a goal for us to achieve. And, really, this is how God loves us.”

The Lord asked Pastor Jim to examine his life in comparison to the items on the lists to see how he stacks up, and then to use the outcome of the examination to bring about change where needed. After he went through the list, he asked the congregation, “When we went through those 22 things on the list, raise your hand if you felt any condemnation at all.” Many raised their hands. He said, “To those people who raised their hands, what that says is you do not completely believe or understand the cross, the resurrection, and what comes with it. If you think God is condemning you, you have no faith.”
