The Lit Round Table

Join the SibNerds as they discuss Book 2: Chapters 5-9 of Dragons of Autumn Twilight.

This week the book gets a little "hot and heavy" unexpectedly—can you guess which characters can't keep their hands off each other?

As we learn more about the elves and their objective, we also learn that perhaps some friends may actually be foes. And Tanis has been hiding a secret?

For our next episode on October 20, be sure to finish the book!

While you may have thought the romanticization of pirates is a modern phenomenon, not only are pirates glamorized in Hollywood, but they were also idealized during their own Golden Age. The promise of freedom and the anti-establishment nature of the lifestyle has intrigued the average person for centuries.

The Sib-Nerds talk about fanfiction and fanart this week! They start by talking about how Anna wrote Lord of the Rings fanfiction (they incorrectly gave the TheOneRing.net as the site they frequented, it was actually TheOneRing.com). They discuss how the fanfiction community was supportive and helpful in fostering Anna's early writing.

They discuss the nature of fanfiction and fanart and how art imitates art and art imitates life. If you read, write, or create any form of fanfiction, no shame!

The Lord of the Rings artists that Anna and Josef mention are Alan Lee and John Howe.

If you want to listen to the SibNerds talk about physics—and laugh as Anna does some quick testing—this is the podcast for you. Also, if you can weigh in on the conversation about physics, it would be appreciated! Clearly, we are not experts! We had a good laugh though.

(Also, Anna completely said the wrong name for her high school physics teacher. If you're listening to this—she is so sorry! She was flustered!)

For our next episode on September 22, be sure to read Book 2: Chapters 1-4.

This week we go through Chapters 12-17.

This is our first week recording from separate states—wouldn't it be cool if we could hitch a ride of a Pegasus so we could record together? Thanks for the patience as we work out any audio irregularities.

Will Anna ever learn how to say Xak Tsaroth? Probably not, but she does try!

For our next episode on September 8, be sure and read Book 1: Chapters 18-22.
