Navan's Davie Furey is bringing it all back home tonight - we nabbed him for a song and a chat.  Oscar Everitt shot to fame overnight after Nathan Carter joined him on West Street in Drogheda yesterday before Nathan invited the talented 7 year old to join hin in concert at the Fleadh last evening and the young man joined Gerry for a pow-wow today!!  We had a natter and tunes from a crew from Leeds before Leon Blanche previewed the weekend sport.

He's an Overnight Sensation!!  Seven year old Oscar Everitt was joined in the heart of Drogheda yesterday by his hero Nathan Carter who reciprocated with an invitation to perform with him last night on stage at the Fleadh as Nathan rocked The Dome.  Oscar joined Gerry on Late Lunch today to talk about an unbelievable 24 hours in his young life....

Fleadh Fever continued on Late Lunch today with the wonderful Antoin MacGabhann and his daughter Bernadette.  John Shanahan told his story of coming to Drogheda and what a story it is!!  Carole Mansfield delivers CPR courses for dog owners and gave our Helena a lesson on-air today.  While we heard of Jane's plight who's looking for a home to rent before she finds herself on the street.

Pat Carr home for the Fleadh had some story to tell about his daughter Cal and himself!  Gerry had a right ould crack with The Healys from Perth and Zoe Worden from the Dark Horse Vegan restaurant before rounding off with the boys from Combines 4 Charity ten years on since they began fundraising.

Ahead of the launch of her debut album "By the Light of the Moon" tomorrow at the Fleadh local fiddle player Roisin Ward Morrow popped in for a chat and a tune!  CEO of LGBT Ireland Paula Fagan reflected on a sea-change in a generation in Ireland towards her community.  WOW - what can we say about Farah Elle - listen and understand the talent this young woman is!!  And after telling his life-saving story Gerry named Mark Lynch as our Unsung Hero for August- well deserved I'm sure you'll agree....

Frank Lynch spoke about his brother Donal who was attacked at his home in Blackrock on Saturday.  Donal O'Connor Producer of Fleadh TV joined us for a chat and a song.  Jim MacArdle releases music of the Usher Family on a new triple CD to co-incide with the annual traditional music festival.  Nicky Kyle returned with Summertime Tunnel to Table and we caught up with Tracy on her Travels and daughter Clodagh too.....

Today marked 40 years since Gerry began his working life as a clerical officer in the Central Statistics Office a milestone he refelected on with Eddie Joyce who he met on that first day and whose friendship has endured.  August 9th proved to be significant with a raft of listeners who messaged us in their droves and some of whom told their stories to Gerry - great stuff here!!  We also concluded our features on post Leaving Cert and Adult Education with the Louth Meath Education & Training Board, Leon Blanche looked ahead to the weekend's sport and we rounded off a memorable day with more about August 9th.

The McKenna Family have worked several lifetimes at the Nursery in the Monks of Collon which alas will close for good on August 16th - Yvonne McKenna had her say today.  Shane Maguire cycled across America to test himself and raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Ireland.  Apprenticeships and Adult Education were under the spotlight with the LMETB today.  We heard from Ashbourne Rugby Club who are doing their bit to support awareness and a number or organisations in the area of Mental Health.

What a weekend for Meath Swimmers!  Mark Hanley and Sinead Delaney only went and won the Mens and Womens Liffey Swim in its historic 100th year - a double for the Royal County!! Anthony Gilsenan manager of Killua Castle popped in for a chat.  With Leaving Cert results just a week away there are many options besides college which we heard about today and will through the week from the Louth Meath Education and Training Board.  While Irish Times Washington correspondent Suzanne Lynch doesn't hold out much hope of gun law reform in the USA following the latest mass shootings.
