As Israel began populating the Promised Land, God instructed His people to set up six cities of refuge around the nation. This was a place that someone could go if they had sinned and needed safety. In today’s message, Pastor Danny teaches us that Jesus is our city of refuge. All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. However, if we put our faith in Jesus to cleanse us of our sins, He will save us from the wrath of God that is to come. We take refuge in Christ, and like a harbor in a storm, we are safe in His protection.

One of the oldest tricks of the enemy is to get us to doubt God’s Word. Satan whispers in our ear like he did with Eve these four fateful words: “Did God really say…?” In today’s message, Pastor Danny admonishes us to never compromise on following The Lord’s instructions in His Word. When God says no, He means no. Abba Father gives us commandments out of His great love for us. When we disobey Him, we not only compromise our unpolluted fellowship with God, but we also set ourselves up for painful consequences.

In this life, we all will experience difficult times. Sometimes we refer to these seasons as “wilderness” or “desert” times. In today’s message, Pastor Danny encourages us to do what Jesus did when He was driven into the wilderness during His time of testing: rely on the Father and His Word. Father God will give us what we need we are spiritually hungry and thirsty. Pastor Danny also points out that in order to have fellowship with the Father, we must have a relationship with Jesus Christ by faith through grace.

As we get older, our physical strength wanes. However, we also mature in faith and grow stronger in the Lord. In today’s message, Pastor Danny encourages the aged and the weak to be strong in the Lord by looking to Joshua, the general of Israel, to encourage us. Joshua revealed that he was stronger as an eighty-year-old man than he was at forty. The reason is because Joshua’s prayer life and faith in God’s provision had increased steadily throughout the years. As his faith grew, his effectiveness also increased.

When Israel was finally preparing to go over to the Promised Land, they faced almost unbelievable challenges. In today’s message, Pastor Danny teaches us that God’s people had to go to war with armies of literal giants. These hulks were so tall that the Bible says that Israel felt like grasshoppers, not men, in their presence. However, through Joshua’s leadership and faith, Israel was able to defeat their foes. The Lord was with Israel as He had always been. When we have faith in God to deliver us, He will do as He promises.

Although Scripture clearly states that the world will hate us because it first hated Jesus, we somehow still get caught off guard. However, how we respond to the hatred of others makes all the difference in the world when it comes to our witness. In today's message, Pastor Danny reminds us that when we take a bold stand for Christ, opposition and resentment are to be expected. In our study, we learn that our best defense against this hatred is none other than the Sword of The Spirit, God's written Word.

Many of us have probably heard the common argument against the Bible that God ordains genocide and mass murder. More often than not, these arguments are based off of Israel's conquest for the promised land in which God commanded them to destroy the Canaanites. However, as Pastor Danny teaches us in today's message, this was God's judgement against an unrepentant people. In our study, we learn that while this might seem harsh, God's patience towards those who refuse to repent has a limit.

Many of us can probably look back at countless times in which we blatantly ignored the wise advice or warnings of others. When it comes to the warnings found in God's Word regarding sin, we often times treat them just as we would our friends or elders. In today's message, Pastor Danny reminds us of the fundamental reason as to why we do this, our sinful nature. In our study, we learn the importance of adhering to God's warnings with everything we have and to love the light, rather than darkness.

Many of us are guilty of being stubborn when it comes to the guidance of God's Spirit in our lives. Whether it's a pet sin or a call to move in a different direction in life, we all struggle with the inward battle of the flesh when it comes to obedience. In today's message, Pastor Danny reflects on the obedience of Joshua, who's success for entering the promised land counted on it. In our study, we learn the importance of submitting to The Lord daily if we have any hopes of successfully serving in His Kingdom.

Some of us may have heard of Jim Elliot who so wisely said that “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” The unfortunate reality of mankind is that many of us tend to forget that everything in this life will perish, including our own lives. In today's message, Pastor Danny reminds us that the best things we can do in this life, is forfeit everything we have for Jesus. In our study, we learn that the more we so willingly give up, the more we'll be rewarded for all of eternity.
