King Solomon was a living testament to the failure of wealth and power to satisfy the soul. The opening statement of Ecclesiastes “Meaningless! Meaningless! Everything is meaningless!” comes from a place of squander. Despite having wealth and wisdom beyond measure as Solomon reached old age he realized how much he misused his time and position. Today Pastor Danny will challenge us to make sure our own priorities are straight only a life focused on serving God can truly have any meaning.
If you ever dream about having everything that you could ever want, you could be imagining the life of Soloman. This man was blessed to a measure that very few humans passed or present could comprehend. Not only did he posses physical treasures, resources and wealth, but God gave him wisdom and position in the world. Yet as Pastor Danny will point out in today’s message, Solomon starts out the book of Ecclesiastes expressing feelings of depression and extreme pessimism.
Satan often doesn’t use the worst temptations in his attempt to pull you away from God. Sometimes that is part of his scheme and you might face those things from time to time but he often works in a much more subtle way. Using small distractions and partial truths to lead down a path that is away from God’s will. As Pastor Danny will warn us in today’s message, if you find yourself making the excuse that it’s not that bad or just once won’t hurt then you’re in dangerous waters and you need to retrain your eyes on Jesus.
This world has many distractions. Most are completely harmless in and of themselves. They can really good things like family, jobs or hobbies. But just as the enemy lured Adam and Eve in the garden using God’s creation, he’ll use good things to distract us from dedicating ourselves fully to God. As Pastor Danny will encourage us in today’s message, if we want to experience the fullness of joy we need to keep God at the forefront of our focus. Serving Him needs to be our #1 priority.
Quite often God doesn’t use the most talented capable or best-looking people for His work. It’s not that He won’t use them, cause He loves everybody just as much as anybody else. But it’s not until they humbly realize their need for His help that He moves in and works through them. He loves to use the weakest among us to accomplish His purpose. As Pastor Danny will point out in today’s message it allows for His strength to shine. Bringing the glory to Him instead of the individual.
If you’re a parent you know the desire to give your children an even better life than what you had. If you grew up in poverty you probably want to make sure that they never grew up lacking. As Pastor Danny will point out in the example of Nehemiah’s parents, the absolute best thing that you can give your children is a deep faith in God.
