People who are driven by passion, people who no matter what tools they have at their disposal will produce quality work because tools do not make a quality movie, passion does. If you’re looking to start something, just do it. By starting you will get the messy mistakes over with in the early stages. This will allow you to build upon those mistakes and use the knowledge from your experience to keep growing. As you get bigger you will be able to afford better equipment and the job may get easier, but at the end of the day, it’s the burning desire you had to make your vision a reality that propelled this idea to fruition.

Have you ever gone into an ice cream parlor that has 31 flavors? You can’t wait to bite into the sweet and creamy chocolate (you’re one of those weirdo’s that bite into ice cream?) but you’ve been waiting behind a lady with her kids that has to taste every flavor because she wants to make sure she is making the right choice and there are so many options. This phenomenon is called “Overchoice” and it was coined by Alvin Toffler as early as 1970 in his book Future Shock. If we knew about this since the 70’s why are companies still offering too many options?

Mike was kind enough to come on the podcast and share his thoughts about the new law that passed in the UK called "Article 13" This law has been called the "meme killer". We go into depth about why the "hustle culture" is detrimental to young entrepreneurs, how to re-shift your focus to seeing real results, how to develop your brand into something that has longevity regardless of the algorithms and how to create a brand voice.
Hope you enjoy!

This is a two part episode due to a power outage! I saved that part to remind all the listeners that perfection doesn't exist and it's better to publish imperfection than never publish at all.

Without questioning authority you accept a doctors advice on health, we rely on others who specialize in that area of expertise to help us where we know nothing. Using that same logic you can position yourself as an expert in your field. By doing so people will rely on you for information no one else is providing, as a result you will be top of mind when they recommend your industry to a friend. Word of mouth advertising is the best way to build a brand. I use real life examples of how you can make anything from carpentry to home inspection interesting.
