When bad things happen, a person’s desire to survive automatically kicks in. For some this may come in the form of having a strong sense of determination and hope, and for others it may come in the form of having a strong support system or a sense of future purpose. Some believe in something greater than themselves that gives them purpose in their lives. But ultimately the desire to survive a horrible circumstance is a deeply personal thing that can be influenced by a wide variety of factors.
