In this fourth part of Acts 2, we cover verses 37 and the first part of 38. We read about the Jew’s response to Peter’s preaching. Peter told them to “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

In this third part of Acts 2, we cover verses 25-36. This is a continuation of Peter’s teaching to the Jews on the day of Pentecost. He made the case that Jesus was the Messiah from David’s prophecies in Psalm 16 and Psalm 110.

On the day of Pentecost, Peter stood up and taught the Jews using a prophecy from the book of Joel. He showed the gathered crowd how Jesus of Nazareth was the fulfillment of Joel's prophecy about the coming "day of the LORD" and the offer of salvation to all who call on the name of the Lord.

On the day of Pentecost, the Apostles were gathered together in a room when they heard a sound like a rushing wind. Tongues of fire appeared and the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit. They spoke in tongues (different languages) and talked to the Jews about the mighty works of God.

This is the second study in Acts 1. Today, we discuss the Apostles waiting in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit and the selection of a new Apostle, Matthias, to replace Judas Iscariot.
