LUKE - 19:28-44 - Jesus Enters Jerusalem (The Triumphal Entry)

After telling the parable of the 10 minas, Jesus sent a few of His disciples into a village to find Him a donkey. He then rode the donkey into Jerusalem while the people laid palm branches and clothing in the road. This event is typically referred to as the Triumphal Entry.

Jesus told His disciples a parable about an unjust judge and a persistent widow to teach that ”men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” He then confronted the self-righteous with a story contrasting the prayers of a Pharisees with those of a tax collector. In the closing verses of this section, Jesus taught the disciples they needed to become like children if they hoped to enter the Kingdom of God.

Jesus taught the people a parable about a dishonest manager who mismanaged his master’s money. He then taught the Pharisees about wealth and eternity by telling them a story about a rich man and a poor man named Lazarus.
