It's the 50th Anniversary of Foxcroft Academy's sole Gold Ball, a championship covered by a young sports reporter who was discovered in the grocery store, of all places. 50 years later, Dave Albee has written the definitive book on the subject. He joins me to talk about the process behind his book and share stories from that by-gone era.

Every two years we go through this whole cloak-and-dagger thing where I'm getting what seems like state secrets sent to me anonymously and I've got to try and verify it and that's an adventure and there's hand-written notes and it's a whole thing. And every two years I make the joke that the MPA could just send it to me directly, since I'm going to get it anyway. This year, they just sent it to me.
The Easton fans got rowdy during their blowout win over Ashland and then they wanted people to pretend it didn't happen, which is never a good thing. Plus, we're a week into the season, so it's time to start looking at the power rankings.
