Dr. Bryant Speaks to Life Coach and Yoga enthusiast, Elinor Miller.

Ms. Miller has a unique approach called ‘mindful living’. In her own words: “I love learning and sharing about the science behind it. I am excited to talk about parenting because I get the privilege to teach others to approach relationships in a different, powerful, and peaceful way. After all, we do for our children what we won't do for others, but practicing this behavior will affect the way we handle others.”

Brain Education Strategies & Technology (BEST) is a non-profit providing tools and building blocks to help manage and navigate day-to-day hurdles. We present practical apps (including our very own BEST Suite), strategies, and training to help brain injury survivors and other groups dealing with executive function and self-regulation challenges. Our goal is to teach individuals to use smart devices as cognitive prosthetics. BEST is comprised of brain injury survivors who volunteer their professional skills and experiences which in turn, drives our product development. We provide an opportunity for survivors to practice and apply their skills in a non-stressful, supportive working environment. Our combined efforts allow us to provide practical and proven solutions to common everyday struggles. For future information visit — https://bestconnections.org

BEST is currently working on a  Veterans Train-the-Trainer (V-T3) Project in conjunction with the Veterans Chamber of Commerce. V-T3 addresses struggles associated with Veterans living with traumatic brain injury and post traumatic stress. Participants will learn to use the BEST Suite app (and related strategies) as a prosthetic for the brain (i.e., cognitive prosthetic) to deal with many of the common day-to-day cognitive challenges they experience. The V-T3 Project focuses on two groups:

    • Guides/Mentors will learn to teach Veterans with TBI/PTSD to use the BEST Suite app.
    • Veteran trainees will learn to use the app to help with common TBI/PTSD-related challenges.
