There's an old saying that goes, “Life is what you make it.”
While clichés are often overused, this one has a lot of truth to it. The life you lead is up to you; no one else can make it for you. If you want to achieve success, you have to put in the hard work and dedication necessary to get there.
Here at The Mentee Podcast, we want you to achieve your good life. It's not going to be easy, but it’ll be worth it in the end. In this episode, we’ll be relaunching the first two episodes of the Mentee Podcast. We’ll be looking back on the vision and goals of the podcast — and how we’ll help you create the good life that you want and deserve.
Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
Episode Highlights:
[06:39] Inheriting the Mentee Podcast
Wyatt did not want to see The Mentee Podcast put on the shelf. And so, he reached out to Jeff Woods and asked if he could take over the podcast because he’s passionate about it.
[08:20] Wyatt’s Journey
He’s been an entrepreneur his whole life. For 20 years, he has been connecting with high level mentors who influenced his success. He wanted to help others live their good life. It wasn’t an easy journey. But having a community of mentors helped him to overcome struggles and attain success.
[16:06] How Wyatt and Jim Met
When Wyatt met Jeff in 2017, he was exposed to Jim Rohn’s quote, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” Jeff had started the podcast to document his journey from employee to entrepreneur.
When Wyatt heard that Jim Rohn quote, he decided to go all in and went to a goal setting retreat. Through that connection, Wyatt came to inherit The Mentee Podcast.
[18:44] The Inner Circle Mastermind Community
People struggle to find and connect with mentors. They discovered people want more coaching, increased access to mentors and opportunities to have conversations with them. That became the foundation of the Inner Circle Mastermind Community.
[27:36] Sources of Goals
Goals come from three sources. First is exposure to new knowledge, opportunities, and insights. Second is the desire to achieve them. Third is having the confidence to go do it.Confidence comes from successes. And to have successes, you need to take risks.
Connecting with the right people creates a culture of encouragement. It allows you to get clarity on what you want and gain the courage to take risks.
[30:00] What’s In Store For The Podcast
The Mentee Podcast and the Inner Circle Mastermind Community seek to expose people to new ideas and ways of living. They’ll bring together mentors and people with high level conversations.. They also offer training, tools, and support to achieve their good life and break free from a recurring pattern of “average”.
Find out about the topics and tools Wyatt will be sharing by tuning in to the full episode!
[46:14] Achieving the Good Life
The good life is simply the life you want to live. Success is getting what you want. You must know what you want and connect with the right people. Have courage to grow and take risks. Be intentional about your environment.

What do you want?
You may think, “Success!” But what does success really mean? Have you ever sat down and thought about what you want? What would your dreams be if you didn't have social media, marketing, or even family trying to influence your dreams?
Here at The Mentee Podcast, we understand that you must fit into society. But equally important is being true to yourself. In this episode, I talk about a speech I gave to a class entering high school. Whether you're a teenager graduating from school or an adult working a day job, everyone is in a state of transition — and the lessons are timeless.
Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
Episode Highlights:
[05:58] The Good Life
Wyatt recommends that you ask yourself: Are you happy? Do you like yourself? Understanding your identity is something you need to have a deep relationship with; we're bombarded daily by noise, marketing, social media, and clickbait that try to influence what we want.
The good life is what you want it to be — the critical element is that you choose. Success is what you want, so when you get what you want, then you're successful. Therefore, it's critical to identify and clarify what you want.
[09:07] What Do You Know?
It’s not about working hard; think hard and get clear on your future self. The world is so broad; see more of it, and the more experiences you have, the more choices you have. Once you know what you want, choose your relationships with intention.
Find people who are successful, and get in a relationship with them. By interacting with them, you slowly become like them.
[12:41] Create Your Environment
You don't decide your future, but you choose the behaviors and habits that define your future. Part of that is your environment. If you control your environment, you can control your future.
However, some people settle into environments that others create for them. Some, like children, have no choice. School systems can help reshape children's environments to guide them to success. As adults, you can create your preferred environment with intentional action.
[20:04] The Drunk Monkey
Everyone has a drunk monkey on your shoulder that tells you that you aren't good enough. It's a trick. The negative thoughts you have come from that drunk monkey.
When you feel shame, your ego protects you from it. It can protect your true self and help you fit in, but your true self is who you should be. You can't always be your true self, but it's essential to know when to be true to yourself and when to live from your ego.
Approach your life with intention, and you can create the future you want.

Are your habits based on your identity or the results you want to achieve?
Our habits must be tied to the identity we want instead of results. What we perceive as discipline is what happens when a person's habits and goals align to their identity.
Here at The Mentee Podcast, we all want to be consistent with our goals, but sometimes life can lead us astray and we stumble as we try to achieve our dreams. In this episode, Wyatt Graves, Host of The Mentee Podcast, talks about his coaching session with Ron Podolski and how he learned to celebrate all kinds of wins, practice gratitude, and build identity-based habits.
Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
[00:50] Coaching Call with Ron Podolski
It's been a month since Wyatt last talked with Coach Ron Podolski. Last year, Wyatt clarified his goal of leading a team of leaders. He has always been on the front lines of his business. However, he later realized he needed to shift his mindset to elevate his leadership, scale, and lead highly talented people.
[04:18] Celebrate Wins and Practicing Gratitude
After reaching a milestone he's been dreaming of for years with his business, Wyatt went “business as usual”. It's important to celebrate not only big wins but also small ones — a win is a win. You have to place your order with the universe to receive, because placing the order means clarifying your vision and acknowledging your desire.
[09:56] Success Leaves Clues
Wyatt remembered a Facebook post from a friend who realized that the people who consistently went to the gym with her were all successful. Discipline happens when people have aligned their actions and goals with their identity. Try to think about your identity and the habits that would propel you toward your future self and the identity you want.

So many of us are carrying hurts. That pain from trauma and past experiences will shape who you are and who you need to be — but only if you don’t let it hold you back. However, it’s often easier to succumb to the pain and preserve yourself instead of healing and putting yourself out there. Unless you overcome your trauma, you can’t be who you’re meant to be.
In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, Michael Anthony, founder of Think Unbroken, shares his journey in overcoming his trauma and becoming successful. He discusses the powerful lessons he learned and how you can achieve the life you want.
Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
[04:53] Having Reconciliation of Self
Life is happening for you. Recognize the power you hold to create the life you want to have. You must understand that your experiences shape you and make you more resilient. Choose to find the good in you and not to hold on to hurts anymore.
[12:55] Being a Good Leader
If you want to lead others, you have to lead yourself first. Even if the people you’re leading are not yet ready, they’re still paying attention to your actions. Set an example for them. But don’t try to lead people who don’t want to be led by you; instead, redirect them to someone else.
Know the price you’re willing to pay. Sometimes, leaders need to make sacrifices. Balance the idea of letting some things go and surrounding yourself with people who will support you.
[21:02] Letting Things Go
A leader’s job is to help people where they are struggling. Leaders must be mobile and agile to bounce around and manage things effectively. Make a decision, delegate tasks, and let your team find success and failure. Don’t micromanage.
[37:00] Taking Action
If you want something but take no action, you’re simply interested. You must be obsessed with your goals and dreams. Ideation isn’t enough; you must take action and accept change.
Sometimes, people suppress their identity due to fear of pain, suffering, and isolation. Choosing safety over identity can lead to an unfulfilling life. Determine your passion, purpose, boundaries, wants, and needs.
[45:51] Chasing Your Dream Life
What are you willing to do to have the life you want? No matter what, you should be okay with who you choose to be. Choose to make no excuses, just results.

We all have days when we feel stuck. Maybe you’ve been working at the same job for years and feel you’re no closer to your goals. Or perhaps you don’t know what to do with your life.
In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, Brian Luebben, CEO of Sexton Property Group, shares his thoughts and tips on living your best life. He teaches you how to create a vision and make it possible because guess what — you deserve to live your best life.
Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
[08:04] How to Find a Mentor
Are you looking for a mentor? It’s challenging to know where to start when you’re looking for the best mentor for you. Here’s what you need to ask yourself:
Gain clarity around the vision of yourself and your future. Once you do that, you’re ready to pursue a mentor to help you attain your goals and create the life you want.
[12:04] Pursuing a Mentor
Follow them on their social media. Find out what they are looking for. Establish familiarity by engaging with their content. Wait until they have a specific problem you could help with — and then offer some help.
[23:17] Creating Your Vision
If you want to attain your goals and ideal future, you need to have a clear vision of the life you want to live. There are four steps to creating that vision:
[27:44] Figuring Out Your Good Life
Financial freedom doesn’t mean not working. It just means that you do not have to. But that may not even be your idea of a good life. You deserve to pursue your dream life. You can choose to seek financial, personal, and philosophical freedom.
When pursuing your dream life, you may have to face change. Be bold and courageous enough to take action. You have the power to take your dream life from possible to probable to planned.

Contrary to popular belief, leadership isn’t supposed to be about telling people what to do. If you are a leader, you must be able to inspire positive changes in people. By helping transform other people, you can give them access to tools and options that’ll broaden their minds and draw out their full potential. That, in turn, leads to personal success and global impact.
In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, Josh Friberg, keynote speaker at the Abundant Agent, shares his thoughts and tips on transformational leadership. He discusses how you can draw inspiration from others and also be an inspiration to others.
Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
[07:50] Transformational Leadership
Most leadership in our culture is transactional. What we truly need is transformational leadership to help people fully draw out their potential. Give people the time and space to absorb what you teach them and integrate it into their lives.
[17:51] Adapting to Change
The exchange approach moves the learning from passive to active. You must also draw on the wisdom and intelligence of other people. It’s also important to engage in your community. Learn to balance your individuality and your sense of community.
Our world’s changing at an exponential rate. An individual can’t adapt to change fast. However, people can change if they gather their collective wisdom, knowledge, and intelligence.
[27:37] The Power of the Collective
Joining with other business owners will benefit you and other business owners exponentially. If you cannot connect and collaborate with others, you become limited to yourself. You will have to carry everything on your own. Your blind spots will leave you vulnerable.
[27:37] Finding Inspirations and Options
When you connect with other business owners, you’re exposed to new thoughts and ideas. With that, you can intentionally decide what to apply to your business. Look at others not to compare but to draw inspiration and look for other options and opportunities.
[34:10] Blazing the Trail
Everyone has different intentions. And the impact of your actions will be different for everyone. If you set an example, others will learn from you and follow your lead.

Every business owner may wonder what differentiates a normal business from an extraordinary business. The answer: extraordinary business owners aim for the extraordinary and think big. Of course, every business growth is great, even when it happens in slow, linear increments. But why grow linear when you can grow exponentially?
In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, Aaron Bare, strategic facilitator and bestselling author, shares his tips on creating an exponential and purposeful business. He discusses the power of flow and exponential habits to serve your business, purpose, wealth, and life.
Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation:
[11:47] Getting Into Your Flow
Most people don’t grow at the rate they want because they equate success to fame. If you want to become exponential, don’t try to fit in. In doing so, you must be prepared to be misunderstood for a long time.
Flow is the ability to keep up with what’s going on. You need to do deep work. Understand how the world works, and then innovate persistently.
[18:43] How to Become Exponential
If you find yourself glued to a screen, you’ll notice it eats away at your mental health. Practice JOMO or the “Joy Of Missing Out”. Learn to say no and turn off social media for long periods.
Be mindful and present in the moment. Unlearn programs, such as mindsets and beliefs, that do not serve you, and be intentional about creating the future you want. Thinking big takes less energy than thinking small.
[36:33] Finding Your Massive Transformative Purpose
So many problems in the world need solving. There are opportunities for exponential leaders to create solutions with the right tool set. Finding your purpose erases all the uncertainty and gives you a clear direction.
[] Establish a Sustainable Model
Create something repeatable, scalable, and sustainable by focusing on that statement everyone can relate to. Establish a business model that’ll solve the pain points of your customers.
Purpose is essential to exponentiality. Communicate your vision to others, and they will provide clarity. And surely, those people will pivot with you.

In fact, it’s even easier than you might think. Just take it one thing at a time, one day at a time. Your small wins will compound into a successful life.
In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, Matt Plumer, real estate entrepreneur and coach, shares his tips on how to show up and resist temptation consistently and how doing so will take you to the good life. Matt discusses the power of a well-thought-out plan and the role it can play in your success.
Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation:
[03:30] Meet Matt Plumer
In 2017, Matt got to a point where he was out of debt but wasn’t making much money either. This got him thinking: what’s a business that can afford him a comfortable lifestyle? With some trial and error, Matt eventually decided on coaching.
Matt lost 100 pounds, got sober, and got out of debt. He chalks his transformation up to three key elements: awareness, decision, and intentionality.
[18:37] Achieving Financial Freedom

People have grown accustomed to putting off happiness and waiting until retirement to pursue their interests. However, if you follow this philosophy, it may already be too late to realize your dreams. To take action now to live a life of purpose and fulfillment, a bucket list may be just what you need.
In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, Trav Bell, coach and speaker known as the "Bucket List Guy," shares his tips on creating a tangible bucket list that will lead to a fulfilling life. Trav discusses the roadblocks that most people face when completing their bucket list and how to overcome them.
Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation:
[02:05] Becoming the "Bucket List Guy"
Trav got his start in the fitness industry as a personal trainer in the early 1990s. He had toxic people in his life at one point, and everything went downhill, leading to mild depression.
He then embarked on a personal development journey, eventually working as a motivational speaker and coach. He mentioned having a bucket list in his first talk, hence his moniker.
[08:00] Living Life with Intention
Trav facilitates a specific exercise when he speaks at events. It's a wake-up call that our time on Earth is finite, and we must act now to achieve our goals and find happiness. Don't wait until you’re terminally ill to appreciate life.
[17:55] Busy Being Busy
We are often so preoccupied with checking off our daily to-do lists that we forget about our bucket lists — the things that bring us joy. Your job should give you the freedom to do whatever you want with your time and money. If you're short on resources, get creative!
[21:33] The Myth of the "401(K)"
Waiting until retirement to do what you want has become the norm, but this does not have to be your reality. A common misconception is that a bucket list is limited to travel plans or expensive excursions.
You can also use your bucket list to take concrete steps toward learning a new language or instrument. Trav has divided his bucket list into 12 categories, clarifying his objectives.
[32:14] A Positive Support System
Set an example for others by completing your bucket list. Rather than wasting time or being negative, shine a bright light on those around you. If you're a parent, encourage your children to adopt a positive, proactive attitude.

"Quantum physics" may sound intimidating, but it is a valuable tool for personal and professional success. Energy makes up everything around you, including yourself. By connecting and transforming that energy to your advantage, you can reach your goals and succeed.
In this episode of The Mentee Podcast, Trevor G. Blake, entrepreneur, physicist, and author, shares his advice on achieving success with financial independence. He discusses the observer effect and reframing your thoughts, quantum entanglement in his business model, and raising your energy frequency to unlock transformation.
Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation:
[10:09] Setting Your Expectations
Energy makes up our thoughts. We set things in motion by focusing on the ideal scenario we want to happen. In quantum physics, this is known as the observer effect. It's best to avoid having a scarcity mindset or risk setting yourself up for failure.
[16:23] Applying Quantum Entanglement to the Hub Model
In quantum physics, quantum entanglement is how particles connect. Trevor put this into practice in his company by using a hub model. Rather than having a hierarchy of employees, he engages with contracts and vendors, creating peer-to-peer relationships.
[24:10] Kick-starting Intuition
Using quantum physics in your personal and professional life requires developing your intuition. Start by taking notice of your thoughts and reframing them to match the positive outcome you desire. To get where you want to go, you must first understand your thoughts.
[39:28] Unlocking Transformation
Trevor suggests starting your transformation journey with his mini mind movie technique. However, he warns that to master a technique, you must first master a repertoire of other methods. It's essential to have a foundation of knowledge.
Paint the perfect picture of what you want to happen using the mind movie technique. Replay that movie whenever you find yourself thinking negatively.
