Surgeon Jos Claes from Belgium volunteered onboard our hospital ship, the Africa Mercy.  

On October 2, 2006, Charlie Roberts shot ten Amish girls in a Pennsylvania schoolhouse and then killed himself.  Five of the girls died.  

Dr. Rokhaya Thiam’s husband of 30 years was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. She gave up her successful medical practice in Senegal, to take care of him.

Bobbie Floyd’s husband died in 2014.  A few years later, she began to foster three siblings. 

Five-year-old Houleye was born with a large tumor under her chin.  Her family barely had enough money for food.  They couldn’t pay for a surgery!

The countries Mercy Ships serves can’t offer proper, timely surgical care. As a result, serious injuries get worse due to neglect.

The coronavirus pandemic caused many schools to close.  Educational company Scholastic came up with a great idea. They created a “Learn at Home” website to keep students busy and learning. 

Terry Smith in Cornwall, Pennsylvania, came up with a great way to honor her grandkids and show kindness to others at the same time. 

Neighbors and family members told Adama how beautiful her baby boy and girl were. But Adama could only trace the twins’ faces with her fingertips and memorize the little sounds they made.  

Michele Schambach, from Guatemala, had a fast-growing tumor in her brain. Her doctor recommended she go to the Cleveland Clinic’s Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center.
