Osoman heard Mercy Ships was coming to Guinea.  This was his chance to help his niece, Aminata.  The eight-year-old girl had a cleft lip.  Somehow he had to get to the distant village where she lived.

Long before our hospital ship docks in the country we’re going to serve, we send in an Advance Team.  They are critically important to the success of our field service. 

A 96-year-old man was shopping at a market in the UK. Christian Trouesdale, an 18-year-old employee, asked the manager if he could walk the man home. The manager agreed, so Christian took the man’s grocery sack and hand-in-hand walked him home. The next week, the man returned to the market and asked Christian if he could walk him home again. And Christian did.

There’s a children’s home for abandoned girls nestled in the hills near Madagascar’s capital city.  Two Mercy Ships staff members got permission for 50 girls to visit our hospital ship.   Crewmembers set up 50 mattresses and provided 50 gift bags.   Offerings and donations paid all expenses.

Paloma Rambana is a pre-teen, born with a rare condition called Peter’s Anomaly.  It causes blurred vision. 

Tamara is from Switzerland and volunteers as a ward nurse on our hospital ship, the Africa Mercy.
