Holding conversations that highlight how inherently messy we are as humans, can hopefully alleviate some of that pressure we put on ourselves to have it all 'sorted', both in our physical and mental spaces.
We all had to learn 'order' and subsequently, must discern how and when to let go of it.
On this show, we put mess in perspective: it's the process of trying, failing, changing and evolving.
- Is some art just a complete mess ?
- Do you need to be tidy and organised to be 'successful'?
- What is the messiest food to eat and what music is deemed 'messy', but do we still love it?!!
- Is 'mess' a negative word?
These questions and more , will be addressed throughout the series. Please make sure you hit FOLLOW / SUBSCRIBE for a regular dose of messy chats.

Both life and the mind can be very messy, which doesn't mean you're doing anything 'wrong', in my opinion.
On this episode of The Mess We're In podcast, I talk to multi-disciplinary visual artist Holly Silius, who works to find beauty in imperfections.

Holly and I are very old friends, having met in London almost 2 decades ago and spent many hours both working and partying hard together , across many countries.
I really felt Holly would have a unique and interesting take on ''mess' and my instinct didn't fail me.
As an artist who works with what would often be deemed as messy materials on the one hand and in other incarnations of her work, is entrusted with designing sometimes deliberately messy designs on people's faces , Holly's perspective on mess, starts to move it away from having negative connotations for me.
Holly speaks honestly and with thought provoking opinions on insights. I loved chatting to her and love her and her work, she is an incredible creative.
