It was a pleasure to welcome bassist Cory Sloan and drummer Jason Connolly to the show. The lads contribution to the Irish Metal Scene is immense in relation to the bands they've played in and recorded with along with their absolute dedication to their craft.

Jarvis Leatherby is the singer/bassist of U.S Metal band Night Demon, he also plays with legendary Metal bands Cirith Ungol and Jaguar. Myself and my two co-hosts Joe and Howard have a brilliant chat with Jarvis about the upcoming debut of his Frost & Fireland Metal Festival (June 17th/18th 2022) in Derry, Ireland. We get to hear plenty about the line up for the festival: Brian Downey's Alive and Dangerous, Gama Bomb, Night Demon, Mythra, Darkest Era, Satan, Cirith Ungol, Midnight, Wytch Hazel and of course Dread Sovereign. Jarvis has a long and varied career in the Metal business so not only will you hear some interesting tour stories, you'll also get to hear about the many people he has meet over the years as well. Please subscribe to the show if you enjoyed the interview. Thanks Richie.

It was a pleasure to talk to Olan Parkinson (drums) of legendary Death Metal/Grind band Abaddon Incarnate. The band was formed in Dublin in 1994, (under the name Bereaved the band released two demo cassette tapes, ‘Signs of Death’ in 1992 and ‘Tortured Souls’ in 1994). The decision was made to change their name to Abaddon Incarnate on the release of their third demo, ‘When the Demons Come’. Since then, the band has released two more promos (in 1996 and 2001) and five full-length album releases, consisting of ‘The Last Supper’ in 1999, ‘Nadir’ in 2001, ‘Dark Crusade’ in 2003 Cascade in 2009 and Pessimist in 2014. Original drummer Olan Parkinson re-joined in 2019 after filling in for some Irish dates and now Under Transcending Obscurity the band will release their sixth album 'The Wretched Sermon' in early 2022. Olan gives us a great insight into the recording of the new album, plans for 2022 and some fantastic stories of the band’s earlier days.

I was delighted to welcome Carl King (Two Tales Of Woe), Darragh of Horrenda, Shannon of Aborted Earth, Tony of Restive Nation to talk about “Aiséirí: Volume II. The lads give us an exclusive track by track preview of this incredibly heavy compilation that was released on December 2021and will precede one more release further down the line. It's an incredible achievement given the response to Volume 1 and like the first release, there's every style of music in there for all fans of the Metal genre. What's even better is that every single cent raised from the sales of the album will go to charity. Please support it and celebrate another milestone reached for this unique collaboration of over one hundred musicians, artists and film makers on this island of ours! Thanks Richie.

Myself and Evan have a great chat to Adam Holland (vocals) & Daryl Montgomery (drums) about their band and brilliant debut album 'Decay'. The lads dropped 'Decay' on December 10th, 2021 and it is a nothing short of a jaw dropper! The vocals are both harsh and clean blended into the heavy often brutal riffs, spiked with genuine energy and melodic hooks. Evan named them his favourite 'New Irish Metal band of 2021' on The Metal Cell Awards yet it's hard to imagine 'new' with the 'established' sound that Archives already have. The other members are Stewart Ferguson (Lead Guitar/Clean Vocals), Samuel Irwin (Rhythm Guitar) and Paul Douglas (Bass). There's a lot planned for the lads in 2022; after the successful launch of their album in Belfast and an appearance in Dublin in Fibber Magees. The next time you can see Archives is another home town appearance at Metal 2 the Masses on the 28th of Feb in Voodoo Belfast so check that out if you can! I really enjoyed this episode and it's a great opener for another year of The Metal Cell Podcast. Please subscribe to the channel and support your local Metal Scene.

Please support all Irish Metal bands by buying their Music & Merch, visit their Bandcamp page or follow them on social media through this difficult time for all musicians/artists in the Irish Metal scene. Join myself, Danielle, Evan, Howard and Joe as we talk about the best Irish Metal releases in 2021. This episode was part 2 of a live Facebook stream we did to celebrate one of the best years for Irish Metal releases; despite bands being stuck in the middle of a pandemic and for the most part unable to tour. We give you all our favourite picks and there's plenty of laughter, beers and Metal discussion as we celebrate the end of the year Metal Cell awards in part 2 of this episode.

It was a pleasure to visit Hardcore/Metal act Worn Out up in their rehearsal space to celebrate the launch of their jaw-droppingly aggressive debut E.P 'WASTE'. Having witnessed the whole E.P played with brutal fury live in Belfast a few months back, it was a great to get the inside story on the the four tracks that make up this blistering debut. The first single release that cranked up the anticipation levels was 'Miles Away' mainly due to Conor Dockery's excellently twisted dark video. The lads fill us in on that and we talk about the production, recording and mixing of Aidan Cunningham. Getting James Sheridan was an inspired choice with the fantastic artwork that mirrors the abrasive onslaught of the E.P. After waiting for nearly two and a half years, WORN OUT have finally delivered a debut E.P that simply smashes the listener in the face and it's a glorious knockout blow. It's my favourite E.P of the year, so go out if you haven't already and buy the vinyl, the merch and celebrate another amazing band to look forward to in 2022. A special thanks goes out to Paul Flynn of Paul Flynn Productions who did a brilliant job of filming and editing this episode.
