The Micah Hanks Program

This week on The Gralien Report, Micah is joined by a special panel of guests who discuss the history of the Contactee movement, where peculiar claims of alien contact have been made since the end of WWII.

This post, TGR 06.01.15. The Contactees in the Desert, first appeared at The Gralien Report.

This week on The Gralien Report, as the “Contact in the Desert” event is ongoing at Joshua Tree, Micah gets a live update on the proceedings from Jake Anderson of The Ghost Diaries, who was in attendance. Among the weekend lectures were Richard Dolan, who discussed his views on false flag operations, as well as black budgets and UFOs; elsewhere, Nick Redfern lectured on the “Golden Era” of Contactees from the 1950s, and why government officials became interested in the subject, and its proponents during this odd period in history.

Then in hour two, broadening the discussion about “Contactees”, Vance Pollock joins Micah in studio, and live via California we are joined by Greg Bishop of Radio Mysterioso, for a wide-reaching discussion of the era, and the mindset behind it. Vance talks about his fascination with the Contactee movement’s origins within the writing of the infamous American occultist and Nazi supporter William Dudley Pelley, while Greg fills out the details about how spiritualism overlapped with the Contactee movement, as well as some of the more esoteric tidbits about the characters involved.

This week on The Gralien Report, we discuss the life of the late John Nash, as well as psychosis, mysticism, and altered states of consciousness.

This week on The Gralien Report, we celebrate Memorial Day in the bunker as we examine the discovery of new stars in deep space, in addition to taking time to reflect on the life of the late John Nash, upon whose life the film A Beautiful Mind was based.

This leads us into a discussion of how forms of mental illness may actually, at times, inspire or spur creativity, as Nash once wrote of his own battles with schizophrenia. Altered states of consciousness and mystical experiences related to them are also discussed in this context, as we examine famous individuals in history who, like Nash, also experienced strange, visionary occurrences, such as science fiction writer Phillip K. Dick.

We also took a moment to discuss the so called “Carolina Chupacabra” that Micah observed near Asheville, NC on Memorial Day. Well, we knew it was a fox… but we’re waiting to see how long before the image is grabbed by another website calling it a “mystery beast”… have a look:
