The Mighty Peculiar

The Mighty Peculiar went live! Denver talks about the New Hampshire Primary and we learned about a corrupt mayor who literally had hand grenades tossed at this opponents during the 1928 "Pineapple Primary" of Chicago

The new season of The Mighty Peculiar continues with possibly its most wide ranging episode yet.

First up Denver holds a fireside insurrection by reading the texts from Utah Senator Mike Lee (who is almost certainly not a sewer rat wearing human skin).

Then the guys enter the nightmarish world of The Hat Man - which causes them to wonder why something as common as sleep paralysis can be so wildly misinterpreted that it leads people to taking potentially lethal doses of allergy medicine in order to fight a fictional being?

Finally, Matt puts Doug’s and Denver’s ability to spot a scam to the test.  Do they pass with flying colors or reveal themselves to be a couple of rubes?

The Mighty Peculiar is back!  It’s a new year, a new format, with the same team at the helm!

Unsure of how to properly kick off this new season, Doug and Matt fall back on the tried and true tactic of triggering Denver about the events of Jan. 6th - leading Denver to drop a veritable cluster bomb of truth, while swatting away the notion that it was a "peaceful protest" or that the participants were "unarmed." Also, he gleefully dispatched the nonsense surrounding Ray Epps

Then Matt makes everyone hungry by regaling them with a tale of pancakes from spaaaaaace!  This leads to some of the most ridiculous and thought provoking discussions in The Mighty Peculiar’s history.

Along the way the guys make some incredibly dated, yet relevant pop culture references and announce that they are launching a Patreon!

2024 may be a scary year,  but rest assured your antidote to doomscrolling the news is back and better than ever!

On this very special episode former domestic terrorist hunter, Denver Riggleman chats with former white supremacist Christian Picciolini.

On this episode of The Mighty Peculiar the guys discover they are still trapped in Satan’s clutches and that the only means of escape is to confront the true evil at the center of the Satanic Panic — false accusations of heinous acts that destroyed the lives of many innocent people.

The truly heartbreaking story of Dan and Fran Keller is discussed in depth.  Will society learn from the grave injustice done to the Kellers the next time a moral panic sweeps the nation or will we experience the horrors of redundant history?

Also, no discussion of the Satanic Panic would be complete without taking Geraldo Rivera to task for his infernal exploitation of the cultural crisis for ratings and fame.

And if that weren’t enough, Denver and Matt spend a bit of time wondering if Jimmy Hoffa frequented key parties.

This week on The Mighty Peculiar the guys feel the ever tightening grip of Satan as they discuss the continued significance of the year 1972, the “comedy” of Mike Warnke, Michelle Remembers, satanic ritual abuse, repressed memory therapy, the McMartin Preschool accusations, Tipper Gore’s Parent’s Music Resource Center (PMRC), and John Denver’s Superman moment.

As a bonus we tell some dad/bad jokes and learn about Denver Riggleman’s love for the Sylvester Stallone classic COBRA.

In this episode, Denver and Matt explore the early days of satanic chic. Matt pinpoints the 1964 Bewitched as the beginning of this era in America, as Rosemary's Baby and Anton LaVey's Church Of Satan aren't far behind. We meet one of the pioneer grifters of The Satanic Panic in John Todd, a Christian evangelist who claimed to have been a reformed member of the illuminati and personal warlock to the Kennedy family.

This week the guys take a trip to Mattoon, Illinois in an effort to better understand why residents believed they were victims of a sinister Mad Gasser.

Were fears of foreign invaders at the height of World War 2 to blame for the hysteria?  Was there an actual prowler?  If so, was the prowler actually a magical 8-foot ape-man?  Is “phantom anesthetist” the coolest villain name ever?  Does Denver reveal himself to be a horse whisperer?

What is a "horse-leaner?"
Who is Buck Johnson?
Who sucks rags

Watch and listen as the three gas-holes from The Mighty Peculiar answer all of these questions and more!

On this episode the guys do their best to exorcise people from the delusion that demons (Democrat demons, in particular) are to blame for all of the world’s problems.

As if that wasn’t already enough, they also discuss the perils of bringing your lust scanner to the mall, Moloch, a guy named Brother Mike, literal and metaphorical child sacrifices, Paula White, exorcist vomit buckets, and so much more.

This episode is having your devil’s food cake and eating it too.  No soul trading required.

The Unelectables finally make their debut and the conversation gets loose!

And by “loose”, it means Doug and Matt talk about the 9/11 conspiracy theory “documentary”/worst person at a party’s favorite movie LOOSE CHANGE.

Along the way the guys share some behind the scenes anecdotes about THE MIGHTY PECULIAR and Matt shares the tough lesson in humility he’s carried for over a decade.
