U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, Republican from North Dakota, told media this week that he hadn't read the whistleblower report that alleges President Trump tried to pressure Ukraine into investigating a political rival and that the White House tried to cover up the phone call.
So, since the senator is clearly a busy man, podcast host Mike McFeely reads the entire nine-page document for Hoeven's benefit. Perhaps the senator can listen on a plane flight home, and maybe he'll share it with fellow Republicans who are too busy to inform themselves of a U.S. president abusing his power for personal political benefit.
Forum sportswriter Eric Peterson joins podcast host Mike McFeely to look back at North Dakota State's victory over UC Davis and to grade the Bison over their first four games of the season. Pretty tough to not give them an 'A,' but there are still questions heading into Missouri Valley Football Conference play.
Minnesota fishing expert Tony Mariotti of Detroit Lakes joins podcast host Mike McFeely to talk about angling, fall colors, duck hunting and other things. It's a smorgasbord of outdoors talk this week.
North Dakota humanities scholar, author and radio host Clay Jenkinson joins podcast host Mike McFeely to discuss the belief of one state legislator that college professors should not be allowed to express their progressive political beliefs on-campus.
Bob Dunning, who has covered UC Davis football for 50 years for the Davis Enterprise newspaper, joins podcast host Mike McFeely to talk about the history of Davis playing North Dakota State, the time Bob called a TV game with Ed Schultz, the current Aggies squad ... and about 100 other things. What great fun to talk with Bob for this podcast.
North Dakota State political science professor Thomas Ambrosio joins podcast host Mike McFeely to talk about an oil refinery that was bombed in Saudi Arabia, why Iran was blamed for it and what the United States might do about it.
Forum sportswriter Eric Peterson and podcast host Mike McFeely take a quick look back at North Dakota State's big victory at Delaware last weekend before looking ahead to the Bison's matchup against No. 4-ranked UC Davis this Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Fargodome.
Can the Bison slow down Jake Maier, the excellent Davis quarterback? Can the Aggies stop NDSU's potent offense? Eric and Mike try to answer those questions and more.
Kevin Tresolini, who covers Delaware for the Wilmington News Journal, joins podcast host Mike McFeely to preview the North Dakota State-Delaware football game. Tresolini was in Fargo for last year's game, won by the Bison 38-10, and said the veteran Blue Hens team from a year ago was surprised by NDSU's intense start.
